"Speaking" 'Thinking' (Would it be weird to have the animals talk to him, I mean they communicate with the same language, it's just not quite in actual words like our language is.)
More time had passed, he'd learned a lot of things from the sprites, they seemed to know his powers more then even he did. He'd learned how to grow fruits and such fairly easily. It was a good thing since he was getting sick of always eating meat.
It'd only been a month or so since the tribe's anniversary (His birthday). A month since he'd turned eight years old. He didn't quite look eight years old, he was fairly tall now, he'd ended up going through another growth spurt, having to go through his clothes and stretch them or just make new one's with his thread and left over pelts.
He was probably about four foot nine or so now. He was worried that he'd continue to get taller, he'd have to create another home for himself at this rate, the roof of his home was already pretty close to his head..., well not that close, but it was still bothering him.
Another statue was added to the shrine, it wasn't very often that a statue of him being the same age was put up. Of course at this point there was now four of them. It was him once again sitting on the stone, this time however, he was surrounded by small flowers that held the sprites in them. The little creatures sat in his open palm as he looked at them with a smile. The small plaque at the bottom named them the little willow sprites.
Not much had happened over this last month, he'd learned a thing or two here and there, but honestly there wasn't much to speak of. Though more of his tribe had unfortunately gained a name... Their graves were still fresh and it bugged him that something like this was still happening. He wasn't sure if it was a snake or sickness, it was hard to tell at times with venomous creatures all over the place.
Most of the time they'd have crows on the lookout for snakes and poisonous frogs, but even then there were times that they had a hard time spotting them. He huffed in sadness at the fact that their tribe seemed to get smaller by the day. They lived peacefully for the most part, they only ever expanded their area when more space was needed for homes. That rarely happened though since they'd taken over the mountain. At the top it was hard to even breath, that was also where he had plans to build his home. A place he'd live in for the rest of his life, or at least he hoped. He'd build it tall and proud, looking similar to how the shrine does. He hopes that outsiders won't notice it as easily, it should be fairly small compared to the mountain itself. (Satellites would notice it so damn fast. Like, oh hey, there's some random shrine built on top of this deadly mountain, why don't we go find out what it is.)
He enjoyed using his powers lately, it was the only thing that really kept him from boredom. His tribe enjoyed watching him create things as well, though he tends to avoid making trees and such since it can effect the ground below them. Instead. he's been creating images and such in the walls of the mountain and other areas. He'd even ended up creating a large statue of himself.
He was only trying to test his limits, but the animals got excited as soon as the rock formation began to grow, the large statue was built in the middle of a pond, he created a hole in the center of the statue so the water could circulate, flow up the statue, and fall back down into the pond. Afterwards it was called the rainbow pond since the water created a beautiful effect when hit by the sun. He'd discovered that birds really enjoyed to hang around there, fresh water was easy to come by for the most part, but the birds seemed to especially like the pond with the statue. It even reached above the trees, so they probably got an even better view from sitting on top of it.
At the moment, Izuku sat at the upper pond on top of the mountain. It'd been quite some time already, he's already eight and a month or so years old, he'd been living here for four years now. There are bits and pieces of his past still fresh in his mind, but others are foggy. He can't quite remember many things involving the people of the outside, but he can remember the large structures all over the place. Similar to the forest, there was always some kind of drama or trouble going around, though out here normally there isn't much trouble unless a predator decides to take one of their own as it's prey.
He sat and looked into the pond, recently with how long he's been outside, he's noticed his body grew a lot darker then it was before. His skin was a dark color that resembled closely to dirt but was a tad lighter. It could be because he'd always spread mud on his body to avoid getting burnt by the sun, but it's started to stick. He rubbed at his skin, but there wasn't much change.
His hair had grown far longer then what he'd originally planned for it to, but he didn't really have anything to cut it with, the knives and his claws were all messy and he didn't exactly want to make himself look all weird, though to be fair it's not like anyone would really say anything, the animals wouldn't really care, they don't pay much attention to looks, instead fixating on spirit and bravery. Because of that, they always spend quite some time at the willow pond.
There were quite a few things about the animals that normally he probably wouldn't have noticed if he hadn't lived with them for so long. First, they were very intelligent, of course a lot of animals have a certain amount of intelligence, but monkeys can learn, birds can sometimes speak human words, of course a lot of the time he didn't recognize them, but he noticed that the crows were fairly interested in the human language, sometime he'd even find them mimicking the outsiders.
The bears had grown fairly large at this point, he'd discovered that they were in fact quite lazy and far less intimidating then what he'd normally believe them to be, or at least the one's that he's raised were. They didn't tend to try to attack anything, only ever finding themselves nice berry bushes and eating every last berry they could, they really enjoyed food. (I've noticed that some times you can get away from a bear simply by offering it food, unless of course you're in their territory and there are cubs around, I wish you luck then...)
The rodents he'd managed to take care of have somehow tripled, maybe even more then that. There were far more then what he'd thought there were, the ferrets having their own little litter not too long ago, where as mice and other such critters found their way into their encampment. To be honest though, they didn't really eat much, they liked to collect food, but they didn't eat much meat, normally only going for fruits and vegetables from the small garden he'd made.
Every one of the animals that have joined them had their own little ways of contributing and surviving within their tribe, some there simply to enjoy their time near a fire, others hunting for food or helping him out with the garden, some learning from him or others on how to do things. He wasn't quite sure what he'd expected when he'd first gotten here, but to be honest, he'd probably never would of imagined that something like this could of been possible. His shark like teeth appeared as a bright smile met his face while he looked up at the sky. So many things had changed over the years, honestly he hoped that more things would come of it, but sometimes bad had to follow, he just hoped that those bad times wouldn't be too difficult on them.
