The next day, school had already ended for Y/N and Makoto as they met up outside of the library, and headed towards the roof to meet the Phantom Thieves.
They had arrived earlier than their younger peers and were talking together about their day before the door opened; right on time arrived the three Phantom Thieves that attended Shujin
"I was thinking you might not show" addressed Makoto towards the Thieves
"So, who's heart do you want us to change?" Asked Ann clearly wanting this to be over and done with as soon as possible.
"... A mafia boss" breathed Makoto with a sharp look on her face, she was serious.
"Mafia!?" Cried Ann. She wasn't the only one present who was confused either, even Y/N was shocked at the potential involvement Makoto may have with the mafia
"Isn't that a bit dangerous Mako?! You can't be serious!" Y/N interjected. However, Makoto met his response with her sharp resilient blood red eyes. She was as serious as could be
"No shit that sounds dangerous!" Yelled Ryuji, "what are you talkin' about?!"
"That's what they call themselves. This group seems to be the cause of the rise in phishing scams." Makoto answered
"What's worse, once you're in their sights, they won't stop threatening you until they get what they want. They'll force you to take part in their scams, threaten your family, and ultimately destroy your life." She concluded"Holy shit..." Responded both Ryuji and Y/N in sync
"It appears some of their victims include some of our students." Makoto continued, evidently disturbing Ann - "They primarily target juveniles."
"What's their bosses name?" Questioned Ryuji
"Nobody knows." The brunette responded "The victims are being pressed not to testify, so even the police can't get a grasp of the situation."
"That's where you want us to start?!" Questioned Ann. It was a reasonable response, as Y/N was just as confused and anxious as the Phantom Thieves
"If even the police can't catch this guy, how the hell are these guys supposed to do it?!" The crimson haired boy asked.
"They should be able to pull it off... If they really are the righteous Phantom Thieves." She answered - "or was Akechi-kun correct when he said that you act without justice." Makoto was referring to the TV broadcast interview of Akechi on the Phantom Thieves, that the Thieves attended themselves on a trip a few days prior.
"Can't you say something witty back at her?" Came that same high-pitched voice from Ren's cat, although this time Ren turned his head towards it as if he heard it too - and he caught Y/N glaring at Mona as he returned his gaze back to his seniors.
'Did Y/N hear Morgana?' Ren thought before he answered Makoto's deal. "Give us the details"
"Unfortunately I have given you all the information I have, you will have to find the rest yourselves" Makoto responded, "you have two weeks. Once that has passed, I'll submit all the evidence I have to the police, and to the school. I hope you don't let me down." She finally concluded, as she walked to exit the roof
The four still present looked between themselves, visibly concerned about what Makoto had just presented them with doing. Y/N was still concerned himself, he didn't know how the Phantom Thieves managed to change the hearts of criminals, but he didn't want his friends to endanger themselves, no matter how angry he felt towards Ann and Ryuji for what they said towards Makoto earlier that week.
"Even if I'm working with Makoto here, you guys should still call me if you need help with anything... I don't want you guys to get into trouble okay?" Y/N breathed
