Phantom Thieves and Hearts: Makoto Niijima x Male Reader

Ren Amamiya awoken from his sleep, after being visited once again by the Velvet Room Twins, and their long-nosed master.
He was familiarly back in his attic bedroom, a calming contrast to the prison that was the rehabilitation Velvet Room.

Next to him lay Morgana, stretching himself awake having woken up at the same time as his human companion.

"Morning Ren." Purred the black cat, stretching out his morning fatigue.

"Good morning Mona." Similarly stretched Ren, before their attentions were drawn by the early ringing of his cell phone.

The frizzy haired boy withdrew his cell phone from his pyjama pocket, answering the early call from The Phantom Thieves' Advisor.

"Hello? It's me, Makoto..." Spoke the feminine voice through the cell, "Were you sleeping?"

"I just woke up actually, Prez." Responded Ren honestly.

"Alright, I called because there's something I feel I should let you know." She confessed, "Kaneshiro contacted me."

"Kaneshiro!?" Interjected Morgana, listening in to the call next to Ren.

"Yes, last night when I was with (F/N)... He said he's calling off our debt. It seems he's disposed of all the photographs as well."

Makoto paused for a moment. "And, um... My sister and her team have taken him into custody."

"What!?" Cried Morgana in desperate confusion.

"It appears they did not want him to... disappear, if you know what I mean." Continued Makoto.

"His group was called a mafia, after all..." Grumbled Morgana, "I wouldn't put silencing him past them."

"Does this mean we were successful in changing his heart?" Eagerly inquired Makoto, hoping the honest answer was for certain.

"It's hard to say for sure yet." Answered Morgana.

"I see..." Breathed Makoto, disappointed that there was no solid answer presently. "What about those psychotic breakdowns that Kaneshiro mentioned?"

"I'm not sure... but I assume he was talking about the incidents that have been all over the news lately." Replied Mona, "It really may be related to the other person who has been entering Palaces..."

The idea that another person, a criminal no less had been entering Palaces just like the Phantom Thieves had was honestly still shocking to them. Even if they had been given this information since before even Makoto and Y/N joined the Phantom Thieves, it was still unsettling that not one, but two Palace rulers had confessed to them about this mysterious, and dangerous figure.

"True... That said, all we can do now is wait until Kaneshiro's change of heart becomes clear to us. Thank you." Concluded Makoto, before they hung up their phone call.

Ren then stood up from his bed, shortly preparing himself as he would every school day...

Lunchtime for the day had finally arrived, and as planned both Makoto and Y/N where seated within the Student Council Office, awaiting the arrival of a particular female student.

After only a short amount of time spent waiting, the awaited girl entered the room; paying neither of them any attention as she tapped away at her mobile phone. Seating herself infront of Makoto, who had called her to the office.

Makoto broke the silence, getting straight to why she called her: "Eiko Takao-san. You've been spending time in the red-light district lately, haven't you? Both myself and (F/N) here saw you there. Based on where you were heading, we assume you're working at a store called the After School Salon. How is it, working there?"
