"let's go, nick! come on!" i yelled from the front door.
"give me a second!" he screamed back.
i rolled my eyes as i walked out to the car with chris.
"so..." chris inquired. "are you ready to ask her out tonight?"
"god, i hope so." i shook my head. "she sent me a text telling me she wants to talk."
"she what?" nick screeched from the back seat. "hazel?"
"look who finally decided to join us." chris taunted, facing him.
"oh, shut the fuck up! tell me what she said, matt!"
"just that she wanted to talk to me after dinner and that is was nothing bad."
"you better ask her out before she asks you. just saying." nick raised his hands and shrugged.
"ok, let's- oh. what's this?"
"what, nick?" chris asked, i turned to look back too.
"'hey this is aaliyah. i stole your number off of hazels phone. is it true matt's asking her out tonight?'" he read off.
"is it true matt?"
"yeah. wait, let me see the phone." i reached my hand back until nick dropped the phone in my hand.
