The Change(Part 1)

(Jasper's Pov)

"Soffia! "Oh god, Soffia baby, wake up!" I shout as I hold her tightly in my arms. Rosalie runs over to us and looks at me. "What happened?" she asked, scanning over Soffia in shock. "She was just going to pet the deer, and a shot came out of nowhere," I say as I hold Soffia close to me and try my best to ignore the blood everywhere.

"Soffia, can you hear me?" I ask, slightly tapping her cheek to get her to open her eyes. "I'm going to get Carlisle," Rosalie says as she leaves. "Baby, please open your eyes," I say as I rest my forehead against hers. I feel her slightly twitch in my arms and watch her eyes open slowly. "daddy?" Soffia asks as she looks at me with fear in her eyes.

"Yes, I'm here, Sof," I say as I hold her closer to me. "I don't feel good," Soffia says as she winces in pain. "I know, baby, I know, but you'll be okay," I say softly, looking into her eyes. She stares back into mine and lets tears fall from her beautiful eyes. "I love you, daddy," she says as I watch her eyes close again.

"No, no, Soffia, please open your eyes, darling," I say as I hear her heart beat fade and feel her body become limp in my arms. I watch as she takes her last breath. Staring down at Soffia, I feel myself grab her arm and bite down into it. My eyes widen as I feel her blood go down my throat.

I keep drinking from her, my eyes closing as I drink. After a minute, I feel a hand on my shoulder and look up. "Jasper, stop. be strong and fight against the urge," Carlisle says as he crouches down to me. I glance down at Soffia and drop her arm quickly. "Jasper, it's okay," Carlisle says as I watch him pick up Soffia.

"I have to go," I say before quickly leaving into the woods. How could I let myself get caught up and do that to her? I think to myself as I stop running and close my eyes, taking in the scent around me and listening for any animals around me. I whip my head to the left, seeing another deer standing there. Quickly making my way to it, I tackle it before sinking my teeth into it.

30 minutes later
(Back at the Denali house)

Walking into the house, Emmett walks up to me. "How are you feeling, bro?" he asks, grabbing my shoulder. "Hunting helped, Soffia?" I ask and look towards him. "She's in your room Rosalie helped Carlisle clean her up," Emmett explains. Both of us turned our heads to the door as we heard a car pull up.

"I tried to get here as soon as I could," Alice says, busting into the door. I open my arms as she quickly walks into them, and I wrap my arms tightly around her. "I'm so sorry, Jasp, I was going to call, but when I had the vision, we were already with the volturi," she says as she looks up at me.

"It's okay, darling, you are here now, and we are both going to be here for Soffia when she wakes up," I say, kissing Alice's forehead. Carlisle walks in with Rosalie behind him. Rosalie quickly wraps Alice in a hug before turning to me and hugging me. "She'll get through this with all of us," she says before pulling away.

"Thank you, Rosalie," I say. "We are going to sit with her now," I say as I grab Alice's hand as we begin to walk towards our room. "Jasper, Alice," Carlisle says as we stop and turn to look at him. "Remember, it can take up to two to five days before she wakes up." He says, "Thank you, Carlisle," Alice says as we make it to our room.

"My baby," Alice says as she walks up to the bed and sits next to Soffia and grabs her hand. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here, sweet girl," she says to Soffia before kissing her head. "Al, she won't be upset with you," I say, coming up to her and taking a seat next to her on the bed. "What if she's upset I left and wasn't here when it happened? She didn't even get a say," Alice says, leaning into me.

I put my arm around her. "Jasper, it's still not fair to manipulate my emotions, but thank you," Alice says softly. "I'm sorry, love, I won't do it again," I say before kissing her head. "Soffia won't be upset at you for not being here, she'll understand once you explain what happened. "She might be a little upset with not being able to choose, but most of us didn't and she'll understand, and we will talk to her about it," I say.

"I just want her to be happy," Alice says, tucking Soffia's bunny into her arms along with her two other favorite stuffed animals next to her. "We will make sure she's happy forever, Al," I say before capturing her lips in mine. I feel her kiss me back as I wrap my arms around her.

"I love you, Jasp," Alice says, pulling away and kissing my cheek. "I love you to Al," I respond, smiling at her. "I just want to lay here with her for awhile," Alice says as she moves to lay down next to Soffia. "I'll stay with you both," I say, getting up and sitting in the chair next to the bed. I grab a book off the nightstand and open it up.

Looking up, I stare at my girls with a small smile appearing on my face. I'm lucky to have Alice if it weren't for her, I don't know if I would've want to survive. Soffia I wasn't expecting her until Alice saw her, but she's the best thing to happen to Alice and me.

I'm glad she's ours and we will get to be with her forever. I smile as I look back down at my book and begin to read, "Jasper will you read to me." Alice asks, looking over at me. "Of course," I respond as I begin to read aloud.
