The rays of morning sunshine fell on dushyant's face, but any drowsiness he could have had was taken away by the deafening alarm blaring through his phone, which he was quick to shut down in annoyance. ishita, who was lying on the other side of the bed, rubbed her eyes and groaned with the realisation she had to wake up.

"tum sunday ko bhi kaam pe jaate ho kya?" grumbled ishita, as dushyant rolled over such that he was now lying on his back, and tilted his head to face her.

"kaam pe nahi, airport...flight hai 4 ghante mein." stated dushyant, sitting up straight, as he rubbed his eyes clean from the sleep crust.

"toh, tum, delhi ke nahi ho?" asked ishita, she had no reason why but she felt a bit taken aback by the revelation.

"nahi, hoon toh main yahin ka, par rehta zyada bahar hi hoon, it's my job..." replied dushyant, as he got up from the bed and knelt to pick up the pair of jeans he was wearing last night from the clothes that were fallen around as a complete mess on the bedroom floor.

ishita rolled to her left side, as she looked at him zip up his jeans, the sunlight fell over his body, it made it harder for her to take her eyes off him, which he was quick to notice.

"kya hua?" asked dushyant, as she shook her head in no, their gazes still fixed on each other, as he only broke it for a second, an idea stirred up in his head, managing to bring a smirk on his face, as he jumped up on the bed, managing to quickly get on top of her and pinning her down with a tight grip around both of her hands.

"ishita saini, kahi pyaar toh nahi hogaya tumhe mujhse?" he asked flirtatiously, as she just chuckled, carefully looking at his face.

"ek raat mein bhi kisiko pyaar hota hai! itne bhi handsome nahi ho tum..." remarked ishita, as he raised his brow at her.

"zyada nahi toh thoda toh handsome lagta hi hoon tumhe....bas utna kaafi hai..." joked dushyant, as she chuckled, it was the first of its kind he had heard from her so far, it wasn't held back or just ironic or flirtatious, but came out genuinely.

he took a good seconds worth of look of her, before he cupped her right cheek with his hand, and leaned in for a deep and lingering kiss.

"toh, ab yeh hamari pehli aur aakhri mulaqaat rahegi, jaisa decide kiya tha..." he said, a clearly unwanted goodbye.

"bas ek raat, do ajnabee, phir apne raste..." added ishita, as he nodded.

their gazes continued to linger onto each other.

"i have to go..." stated dushyant, there's only so much time he could delay, as she nodded, pulling him for a last quick embrace, as he too closed his eyes sinking into it.

the monstrous alarm blew up again, waking him up and bringing him back to reality. he shut it off, as his eyes opened to the monotonous white walls of the hotel room, and just like that, was broken his dream. he looked to his side, his hand could only feel the empty mattress below the bed sheet, she was now only in his dreams.

There is nothing like a lazy afternoon at the beach, especially after continous wedding festivities that had driven everyone to exhaustion, the kind that is fun, but still one could use a break from. the kids were having a blast though, they finally got a chance to just run around a place and their parents could not give even a tiny rat's ass, it was their time to unwind, they might as well be pretending their children don't exist.

"yaar yahan koi acha north indian restaurant hai bhi...hotel ka khaana khaake pakk gayi hoon main..." remarked purvi, as she was applying sun screen, and taking up all the joys of sunbathing.

"kya baat hai, hafte bhar mein hi destination wedding ka shauk utar gaya...i'm shocked...." remarked kavin sarcastically, lying with his sun glasses, he was honestly just chilling, while purvi only glared at him.

"yaar kavin dekho sabko court marriage nahi karna hota hai tumhare jaise kanjoos ki tarah..." retorted purvi, as dushyant who was sitting beside them, having a drink, just chuckled out of amusement.

"aur nahi toh kya, bhai aap samajhao isko, arre bhai itna paisa kamaate hai, agar kuch shauk pure karne bhi hai toh itni kya buri baat hai!" exclaimed purvi, as kavin just shook her head in disbelief.

"arre toh paisa invest karlete na, ghar le lete..." argued kavin, trying to make his point again, as purvi was already done.

"kavin we work like 12-14 hours a day, kitna hi ghar rehte hai hum, shaadi enjoy karenge, yaad bhi rahegi..." shut down purvi his argument, clearly, this was an argument that had taken place many times before.

"abe yaar enjoy karna tha doston ke saath koi trip rakhte, batao ludhiane ke chacha ko mladives dekhake tumhe enjoy karne ko mil raha hai! dekho udhar pade hue hai woh shirt utaarke toond dekhane ko! yeh kaunsi yaadein hai bhai rakhne ko?" relented kavin to his side of the argument, only for ishita, who had just arrived after a swim, felt like the finger was pointing at him, confusing her completely.

"maine kya kiya..." asked ishita in confusion, as dushyant was just bursting in laughter, while purvi slapped her forehead.

"nahi nahi ek kaam karo khade hoke zor se chachaji ka naam lete bulo unki tond kitni badi hai, pure khandaan ko dekhao..." rebuked purvi in frustration, as ishita just looked at the chachaji, trying to comprehend the entire situation.

"i'm really sorry, hum aapki baat nahi kar rahe the...aur tumse toh baat hi karna bekaar hai..." gave up kavin on the ludricous argument.

"toh karte kyun ho? itni problem hai baat karne se toh gungi biwi dhoondo.." taunted purvi, shaking her head.

"guys, seriously, yeh koi argue karne ka time hai....har baat pe jhagda karna zaroori nahi hota hai, sometimes you can just shut up and let each other be...hamesha sab tumhare hisaab se nahi hota, compromise bhi karna padta hai.." attempted ishita to put an end to the conflict, as the cutting tone in her voice couldn't help but seep through and affect dushyant.

she was quick to realise the effect of her words, as a vaccum of awkward silence was formed, as kavin and purvi could sense the quiet tension too.

"you know what, i'll just go and get a drink..." took ishita her leave immediately, as dushyant upon seeing this, couldn't help but instinctively follow.

ishita was getting a drink from a tiny hut that was set up right outside the hotel, their own subsidiary, when dushyant came and stood adjacent to her, which she was quick to realise. they exchanged an awakward smile, only to look away immediately.

"tum galat nahi thi...about the compromise part..." stated dushyant, as hard as it was for him to admit.

"khaash tum pehle samajh lete..." replied ishita, as she grabbed her drink and walked away, leaving him to let out a sigh of regret.
