Ishita was woken up when her door opened suddenly, revealing the corridor outside her hotel room. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, only to squint and look what was going on outside, only to find purvi being dragged over by her friends, while there remained an amazed smile on her face.
She figured it must be the whiff of air from purvi's room's air conditioner that they all seemed to be stepping out of, leaving the door open, that ended up opening hers too. The knob never really locked the door properly after all.
She got up and walked over to the door to lock it shut, only for her glance to meet the group of purvi and her friends. All of the giggles, smiles and laughter vanished, as everyone seemed to realise that nobody remembered to invite her. She shut the door on everyone's face and walked back to her bed.
She sat down, covering her face, couldn't help but wonder if all this time she spent distancing herself from people resulted in them distancing her now. She was forced to confront just how lonely she has made herself while trying to learn how to live alone.
She looked around the room, the emptiness surrounding the four walls seemed to be blaring through the silence in the air. She just decided to lie down quietly and close her eyes to fall asleep.
Ishita and dushyant were stepping out of the marriage court, only for them to be left shocked as they found a man and a woman, in their fifties at max, standing there crossly.
"mummy....papa..." attempted ishita to talk to them, as she left hold of dushyant.
"tu iske saath bhaagi?" questioned her mother with utter disdain, making dushyant swoop right in for her defense.
"nahi...nahi..aap galat samajh rahe hai....ishita bhaagi akeli hi thi, main toh bas usse itefaaq se mil gaya tha aur...." explained dushyant, but he was involuntarily cut off immediately.
"tujhe pehli baar moh kaala karke sharam nahi aayi? aur bola kyun nahi agar issi se shaadi karni thi! yeh sab karke hamari izzat ki dhajiya udaana zaroori tha!" yelled her father, only for her mother to slap her immediately, only for dushyant to grab hold of her hand and step in right front of her dad.
"dekhiye, main aapki haalat samajhta hoon par aap ishita se aise baat nahi kar sakte...mere saamne toh bilkul nahi." stated dushyant in a firm yet calm manner as ishita only looked in surprise.
"acha, tumhe lagta hai hum maanenge tumhari shaadi?" questioned her father back, taunting in his tone.
"aaps kisne pucha, kanoon toh maanta hai..." stated ishita bluntly, making her parents utterly shocked.
"aur aap apni izzat ke baarein mein mujhse kaise puch sakte hai jab aapne meri izzat ka nahi socha! meri izzat ka kya hota ek zabardasti ki shaadi mein?" questioned ishita bluntly, before she looked over to dushyant, tightening her grasp around his hand.
"yeh mera pati hai, pyaar karti hoon isse, aap ko nahi manna mat maano...kyunki phir main bhi bhul jaungi mere maa-baap the aap." made ishita her point, as her parents were left utterly astonished.
"ghar chale?" asked ishita, looking over to dushyant, as he nodded, smiling lovingly at her, but before leaving he looked at them once again.
"dekhiye, main maafi mangta hoon ki yeh sab jaise hua, waise nahi hona chahiye tha, par joh hua woh galat nahi hai....haan, pehle humse galti hui thi par, aaj joh aapne kiya haina, sahi mein galat woh hai." stated dushyant, as he then walked away along with ishita.
They had no idea, but she rested her head on his shoulder, hiding the tears that were rolling down her eyes. Only for him to comfort her, by putting his arm around her lovingly, as began the bittersweet journey of their union.
Ishita was woken up from her phone ringing, as she grunted in annoyance before getting up to pick it.
"hello." she received the call, still sleepy.
"ishita toh kahan reh gayi hai! shaadi hai aaj! aa neeche haath batane!" yelled her mother from the other end of the call, as ishita took her phone away from her ear to check the time, realising it was 6 in the morning.
"taiyaar nahi hungi abhi...moh haath dhoke aati hoon." informed ishita, as she pulled the sheet away, putting her feet down on the floor, seated on the corner of the bed and slipped her feet into the slippers.
"tujhe bola tha na 5 baje uthne ko! ab aa neeche, aur das baje tak chale jaana taiyaar hone, samajh aayi..." rebuked her mother, as she grabbbed her towel and unlocked the bathroom door.
"hmm..." responded ishita, not paying attention anymore.
"kya hogaya hai tujhe! hosh hi nahi rehta! always late.." grumbled her mother, as ishita just hung up on the call, and threw her phone on the bed before going inside the bathroom and shutting the door from inside.

Dushyant walked inside the tent the marriage was supposed to take place in, as he directed the people carrying rotating fans, at all the spots the fans should be kept at. He made sure all of them were quick to reach there, making sure everything was getting done.
Suddenly, his phone rang, which he didn't even have time to see was by whom before receiving.
"haan bolo..." received dushyant the call, as he was enraged to see a fan lying on the floor.
"abe...kisne kiya hai yeh! chutiye ekhatta kiye hue hai!" yelled dushyant, as one of them rushed to pick it up, apologizing profusely.
"haan bakko yaar tum!" yelled dushyant at the caller as well, who seemed to not have said a word so far.
"uhh, dushyant, it's me..." came a voice from the other end of the call, as dushyant slapped his forehead, recognizing the american accent in the voice, making him realise it was someone from work.
He mouthed a 'fuck' to himself, before he got out of there to attend the call.
"uhh, yeah, sorry for that....so, what's up?" responded dushyant, as he felt weirded out by his words, mouthing the 'what's up' to himself questioningly, wondering as to what made him say it.
"well, this news will significantly make your mood better, i think...it's regarding your promotion..." stated the caller at the other end, as dushyant was as expected, left elated.
"what! seriously!" exclaimed dushyant, surprised very well.
"yeah, well your file got cleared, the proper documents were supposed to be given when you'd be here back at the office, but i thought i should tell you anyways...maybe you'd think of coming sooner..." stated the caller, as a smile came on dushyant's face.
"yeah, i, uhmm....i'll, i'll be there...of course! uhmm, thanks! thanks a lot..." replied dushyant, utterly joyful, ending the call, as he throw up his arms, clenching his fits and grimacing, mouthing a 'yes!'.
