Dushyant was now lying on his stomach with his leg stretched out such that his knee pointed up, and his arm was stretched out, seeming from afar as if trying to get hold of ishita, who was lying on right side of the bed, on her back, with her head tilted in his direction, deeply drowsing to sleep. His eyes were shut completely, clearly deeply sunked into a dream.

Ishita was chopping up vegetables in the kitchen, when dushyant, who had just arrived from work, kept his bag on the couch in the living room on his way to the kitchen, and surprise her with a hug from behind, such that he locked both his hands together at her abdomen, such that he formed a tight embrace around her with his arms, making her chuckle.

"arre, tum kab aaye?" asked ishita, awfully surprised.

"bas, abhi toh aaya ghar, darwaza kholke...." replied dushyant jokingly, before he planted a kiss on her cheek, and she just turned back to face him.

"par bangalore se kab wapas aaye?" questioned ishita, as dushyant now wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer, such that her hands were now placed on his chest.

"arre yaad aa rahi thi yaar tumhari, maheena hone ko aa raha tha, kaam hi nahi nipat raha tha, phir long weekend jaise hi pada, maine flight pakdi aur aa gaya..." replied dushyant, making ishita chuckle, as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"shaadi ko bhi do maheene ho gaye waise hamari...." reminded ishita, as dushyant had a scared look on his face.

"main, gift nahi laana bhul gaya..." stated a dumbfounded dushyant, as ishita just slapped his arm.

"do maheene ki kaunsi anniversary hoti hai idiot! main yeh keh rahi thi ki hamari shaadi ke do mein se ek hi hai joh humne sach mein saath bitaaya, usmein bhi agar honeymoon hatado toh baaki din kaam hi lage rahe...phir, tum bahar chale gaye..." pointed ishita, attempting to explain, as dushyant sighed.

"yaar ab koshish kar toh raha hoon ki project yahi mil jaye thoda aas paas, ki daily commute karke yahi rahoon..." stated dushyant, as ishita cupped his face.

"i know, baba...but tum bhi kyun opportunities ko mana karo aise? isliye maine apne office baat ki, mujhe remote kaam karne dene ki." informed ishita, shocking dushyant.

"arre par...ishita..." attempted dushyant to react, but was stopped by ishita.

"dekho dushyant i can work from home, i am an illustrator, and let's be real, even most of the meetings i have to attended can be dealt with over email....and, i want to be with you...i don't want a marriage where i just wait half of the months for you to come home only to see you at the airport to leave again...so, this way, i can just go with you wherever you go and, we can be together..." explained ishita her perspective, locking her arms around his neck, as a smile came over his face.

"then we'll just have a marriage where i'll see the world with you beside me..." replied dushyant, as he leaned to lock his lip with hers, and they both ended up in a deep kiss.

"i love you..." said dushyant, looking deep into her eyes with a loving smile, which she reciprocated, as she too said:

"i love you too..."

He found his eyes to be open from a broken sleep, as the dream was shattered too. He looked over to her, sleeping right beside him, he couldn't help but admire her beautiful face despite of her hair trying their best to hide it, spread all around her face.

He had that loving smile again, as he moved away the strands of hair to be placed neatly behind her ear, only for his thumb to gently stroke her cheek, before he leaned forward to plant a kiss on her forehead. It wasn't lingering or even quick, it lasted a while before he moved away, but even he knew better than to let himself take a while with it. His hand too moved away from her, as he now lay on his back at his side of the bed again, his arm placed behind his head, before he took a long sigh, recounting that memory from his dream.

Dushyant woke up to bright rays of morning sunshine seeping through the window, as he opened his eyes and stretched his arms to be awake. He looked to his side, shocked at not finding ishita, making him sit up immediately and look around, only for no sign of her anywhere.

He got up and knocked on the bathroom door to check if she was there, only to barge open the door at no response, and still not find her there as well. He was starting to get really worried, only for the door to the cabin open and there she was.

"kahan thi tum! main darr gaya tha! Subha-subha kaun gayab hota hai!" snapped dushyant, as he moved to her, overwhelming her with the sudden outburst.

"bas 15 minute ke liye hi toh gayi thi..." replied ishita, keeping her calm, as even dushyant realised he was overreacting.

"aur main tumhara double espresso laane gayi thi...subha uthte hi peeti ho, aur kamre ke coffee saches se toh nahi banta woh.." informed ishita, forwarding the go-to cup she had gotten the coffee in, leaving him completely surprised.

"ohh...." uttered dushyant the only response he could muster, as he took the cup from ishita, who just walked away, only for him to turn back.

"toh tumne, chaye peeli....subha waali tumhari?" asked dushyant, now very polite in his tone, still processing what happened.

"haan...inki chaye actually mein achi hoti hai...baaki breakfast ke liye main bol aayi hoon hamara order, jab tak tum coffee peelo, fresh hojao, chalte hai phir...maine kaha baatein banane ko yeh topic na lekar baith jaaye ki yeh log naashte ke liye bahar nahi aa sakte the, andar hi khaana tha.." stated ishita, as dushyant was just froze at his place, only nodding to her words, while she tied her hair in a bun and grabbed a towel.

"main nahaa leti hoon tab tak...." informed ishita, about to enter the bathroom.

"huh...haan.." responded dushyant, for whom, everything seemed to be happening too fast.

"pee bhi lo coffee, thandi hojayegi..." stated ishita, before shutting the door for the bathroom, as he sat down on the bed and took a long sip, clearly needing it to digest everything that happened this morning.

It was a strange feeling after all, everything seemed like just it was before, like in his dreams....except for it wasn't, which made it feel even more surreal somehow.
