"I can't believe the poison left your system so quickly. Is one of Kentucky's secret herbs some miracle medicine."

Back at the safe house, Spidey had fully recovered from Scorpion's poison. Clint was still resting from the beatdown, but they would be going to fix his hearing aid and look for more info soon.

Spider-man chuckled, "As amazing as that would be, it's not the chicken. I have a pretty strong healing factor. So long as there is fuel in the tank I can quickly recover from any life-threatening injuries. Or poisons."

Kate slammed her hands onto the tables and leaned forward, staring Spidey directly into his masked eyes. "That is so cool."

Yet again, Peter was grateful that Kate couldn't see his blush or sense the guilt churning in his stomach.

"Thanks."

Kate leaned back on her chair again, momentarily flowing through the air like tall grass in the wind. With a groan of frustration she sighed, "God, I wish I had your powers."

'You don't want that.'

"So, a quick revision of the plan. I take Clint to get his hearing aid fixed and you..."

"I know a guy that might have some information about the Tracksuits. Maybe even something about the Scorpion guy."

Kate nodded, "Right. Bishop Securities has a huge criminal database. I can access it from my mom's computer. See what there is on the Tracksuits and Jack"

Spidey raised an eyebrow in confusion and asked, "Who exactly is Jack?"

In a completely serious tone, Kate explained, "Jack Duquesne. He's my mom's fiance, and I think he murdered his uncle, Armand the Third."

Spidey paused for a moment, not saying anything for a few seconds. Then without warning, he smacked himself in the face. "I completely forgot about that part."

Kate smirked, seemingly amused by his behaviour. "You forgot about the murder?"

Spider-man shrugged, "Between meeting two Hawkeyes and fighting a guy in a giant scorpion armour, things can slip your mind. Okay, I'll ask my informant about Jack, and see what he knows."

"That's perfect... wait... Did you say TWO Hawkeyes?"

Kate wasn't sure how she should feel about that. Being compared to her favourite hero by an Avenger was a subconscious dream she has had ever since she started doing archery, but she didn't expect it to happen like this. She expected a feeling of pride or honour, instead, she felt confused and... warm. As if someone had just placed a blanket fresh from the dryer around her heart.

Spidey chuckled shyly as he walked towards the nearest window. "I saw the way you shoot. You have skills that can't be wasted."

He opened the window as he continued, "Clint may deny it, but this is just the beginning of your journey. Soon, you'll be on the frontlines fighting against the next alien invasion. And I'm looking forward to seeing you in action."

Spidey sat down in the open window, "My word of advice, get a mask. Too many people know who you are already."

He leaned back and fell out into the streets. "We'll meet back here in the evening!" he yelled.

Kate couldn't help but run to the open window and watch him swing away. Sticking her head out the window, a soft smile spread on her face as she watched the vigilante swing into the distance.

"God, he's amazing." She whispered, covering her smile with her hand, not noticing how warm her face felt despite the freezing winds.

Aaron Davis hummed as loaded his bags of shopping into the trunk of his car. He was surprised by how empty the parking garage was despite the Christmas Season. He wasn't complaining. It made his Christmas shopping a lot easier. It was just that, there was something familiar about this scene, and his gut didn't like it.
