ON THE LAST DAY OF January, Ophelia had her usual monthly assessments, and was proud to say that she aced them all, as usual, having the highest marks in her year. Narcissa and Lucius were informed of this, and they were both so proud of her, that during breakfast in the Great Hall, the family owl delivered a large bouquet of flowers, right where she was sitting.

Many thought it was a secret admirer, but Ophelia didn't care. She was just glad her parents still had even a little bit of time to order flowers for her.

Meanwhile, Professor McGonagall was teaching Ophelia harder transfigurations by the day. A routine had formed, where she and Professor McGonagall would meet three times a week in an empty classroom after dinner. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and each day, Ophelia made little progress.

Professor McGonagall told her that the first step to Animagus transformation was figuring out one's Patronus. For this, she would need to cast the Patronus spell. Professor McGonagall had taught her the basics of this particular spell, and told her that it was a Sixth Year spell, and that it would take time to accomplish. The best thing to do would be to practice during every chance she got.

And so, everyday, Ophelia made it a habit to sneak away after lessons, for an hour or two, and try her best to summon her Patronus.

She told no one what she was up to, not even Colin. Although a part of her wanted to tell him, the other part of her enjoyed keeping it a secret.

She even borrowed a number of books from the library in order to help her with her Patronus, and Professor McGonagall had given her a signed slip to give to Madam Pince, that allowed her to pick and choose relevant books from the restricted section.

And so, she practiced, every single day. When she finally made progress of the fourth day of practicing, where a thin, silverish wisp of light had emanated from her wand, she was elated, and so, decided to stop there, and continue the next day.

Most of the time, Colin wouldn't notice her disappearance, as he usually devoted that time to Abigail.

Ophelia thought they made a very cute couple. Colin would do everything for Abigail; carry her books, walk her to classes, and even sometimes tie her hair when her hands were full.

Colin Creevey had separate, allocated time for his best friend, and girlfriend. But some part of him wanted the three of them to hang out together.

Which is why, when he was with Abigail one afternoon, asked her if she'd mind spending an afternoon with Ophelia.
