OPHELIA WAS COUNTING DOWN THE days to Valentine's Day, also known as the day she had been waiting for for weeks, also known as the day she and Colin went out for their first date ever.

The blonde had gone to Hogsmeade with Colin before, several times, but this time felt different. It felt more special. She had already planned her outfit, her shoes and even her jewelry for the date, and they all lay perfectly arranged somewhere inside her trunk, which had an undetectable extension charm placed on it so it acted more like a giant wardrobe than anything else.

Ever since she and Theo had caught Potter sending Colin to spy on her, Ophelia had been slightly upset with Colin for not refusing. Of course she knew Colin was on Potter's side. But she at least thought that she deserved an explanation at the very minimal.

Colin had apologized for trying to spy on her, and Ophelia had forgiven him, but that didn't stop Colin from asking her questions about whether or not Draco was a death eater. Once again, Ophelia suspected this as influence from Potter.

At that, she had made it clear to Colin that she would not answer any of his questions regarding her brother. Potter should stop interfering and involving Colin to do his bidding as he was ruining Ophelia's relationship with him, and the latter finally agreed and decided that when they were together, there would be no discussion of the different sides of the Wizarding world.

But still, it was extremely hard for Ophelia to spend time with Colin.

It seemed like the universe simply did not want them together. When she fell for him, he had a girlfriend and he did not feel the same, but the two had ample amounts of time together.

Now that they both knew of each other's romantic feelings towards each other, and they both felt the same way, it seemed impossible to spend any time together. Their schedules were completely different. The only time they actually got to spend time together was during potions, but that hardly counted seeing as that time was supposed to be utilized for learning.

But when Colin and Ophelia did have free time together, they would both huddle up in an armchair together and just talk. To avoid the rest of the common room, they both met in the common room late, until everyone else was asleep.

In a way, Ophelia loved the fact that she had fallen for her best friend, and that he had fallen for her too. He would stroke her hair and hold her so gently, as if he were afraid she would break, and the blonde always found herself safe and comfortable in his arms.

Until the day Ophelia asked him that particular question that had been plaguing her mind for days.

Three days before their date, the pair of Gryffindors sat by the fireplace, cuddling together to keep warm, the blonde resting her head on the boy's shoulder as his arms curled around her waist.
