(An Elliot POV)
Some of the guards told me to sit down and wait for a bit, and I did, for HOURS. It felt so long that I asked the guards around me for the time constantly. They all kept telling me that soon someone would show up to train me. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting but nothing. Eventually, I just started fighting the training dummies, at least it'll get my mind off of things. All of this time I've spent away from the others is when things actually start to happen, but why? Kris has been overworking himself, any moment he's going to burst, or if not he already has. But for what? I just can't understand this. I got lost in my mind, thinking, slashing, thinking, slashing, it felt like it would never end. I heard footsteps coming from the corridor leading into the room, the click click click of the person's shoes stopped in the doorway. I looked over and put my sword away. "Not bad. Elliot, right?" the injured person from before, Jordi, said. I nodded. "Pretty bad first impression out on the path huh, sorry about that. My name is Jordi but I'm pretty sure you already know that." He continued. "One of the guards informed me that I'm the one that is going to train you and since everyone is gone and you already seem to be doing awesome with your sword skills, and also since I do not use swords and you seem to be fluent in that already, I will be teaching you Hand to Hand combat," He finished. Jordi took off his gauntlets and stretched his fingers. "How are you and Kris doing?" I said. He stayed silent. "I got all the treatment I need to feel better, Kris; I don't know. He keeps refusing medical help. Every time he's been sent to the medics he's walked out and gone back to fighting." He finally said. I sighed. "Let's get this over with now, and later we'll talk more alright?" He said and walked over to the training dummies. "You ready?" He said and I nodded. He moved some training dummies around the room and walked back over to me. "Alright, the first thing you'll need to learn is the basics of hand-to-hand combat. Imagine this, They hit the sword out of your hand and you're defenseless, you can't just run to grab your sword to continue the fight." He said while hitting the sword out of my hand, I flinched in the process. "That's how quickly things like this can happen you see?" I nodded again. "Let's start with the basics. You can throw a punch right? Punch the dummy. The way you throw your punch matters too, Don't tuck your thumb in between your hand when you're throwing a punch, it could hurt your thumb instead make sure to put it over your other fingers, y'know, like boxing." He said and showed me some of the movements he uses.
Time went by quickly, and we've been working up a sweat. We sat down in silence to relax for a bit. "So about you, where have you been? We didn't hear from you after the celebration disaster." Jordi said. "Oh. I had some 'family' business to get over with. Nothing much, I didn't get any alarms from anything, and I wasn't in my kingdom either." I said looking over to him, who was chugging down a water bottle. "Ah- gotcha. Are you gonna be more active in fighting with us now? If you've got other stuff to deal with, don't be afraid to tell Alex, he mainly runs things around here," he said, putting the water bottle aside. "Can you tell me more about the other primordials? And yourself, of course, I really only know Kris." I said shamefully. "Oh yeah, You'll meet them soon enough I can give you a brief explanation of them. So let's start with the group leader, Alex, as you know he makes all of our weapons, and our armor, and also is the one giving commands. His family has been the leaders of the Primordials since the start of time. And also Tombstone, sometimes we can't even tell which side he's on, he just sort of does whatever floats his boat. I'm more of a punch now and ask-questions-later kinda guy. You already know Kris, he does anything if it means saving his friends or his people, even if it costs him his life, but that's why he's one of the best." He finished and stood up. I stayed silent and he looked over at me. "What about you? What's your story?" He said while stretching. "Well, nothing much, my mom works for Dark Knight so that's something that isn't good. While I was gone I encountered her again. I was trapped. But thankfully I'm here now." I said while fiddling with my hands. "Y'know, that's a lot like Kris' story, do you know that?" He said and sat back down. "And now look at him, I would say better than ever but the best thing is that he's happy being here, he's happy to fight for the greater good. You guys are similar." He continued. "I think you two would be a great team for missions." He finalized his sentence with a shoulder bump. "Let's continue our training before I also get emotional," he said and we stood up and got into our stances again.
