"No, not like that!" Deathbringer sighed, and threw the silver blade again. It stuck into the huge banyan tree's trunk, and stayed there. "You need to flick your wrist and let go at the last second so that the dagger flies fast and straight.
"In case you didn't know, my good arm is broken right now," Jasmin snapped, gesturing at her bandaged arm. "So I'm not as good as I was, alright?"
"I know that." Deathbringer paused briefly to nudge her wing with his. Jasmin flinched away, scowling. I've had enough touching to last my entire life, thank you very much.
"Let's try knocking down a dragon in a defense position again." Her half-brother crouched low to the ground, his wings spread halfway. "Try knocking me down."
Jasmin analyzed his position before leaping onto his back, one of her talons enclosing around Deathbringer's neck. She flicked her tail, and knocked his legs from underneath him.
"Oof," He wheezed. "Great. I think you've got it now. I think we should move on to how to stay standing when someone attacks you. When they jump, you move out of the way and leap onto them, alright?"
Jasmin crouched slowly to the ground, wincing slightly as her side-wound stretched painfully. Deathbringer waited for her to adjust her stance before jumping on top of her. At the last second, Jasmin moved swiftly out of the way, and the older dragon landed clumsily onto the soft mud. She leaped on top of him and aimed her tail-barb at his heart.
"Excellent, you've got that ri-"
"Jasmin? Are you here?" A NightWing dragonet with silver teardrop scales emerged from the undergrowth. She stopped, dark green eyes widening at the sight of Jasmin standing nimbly on Deathbringer, looking like she was going to kill him.
"Hi, Moon," She panted. "Do you need me for anything?"
"Why are you trying to kill Deathbringer?" Moon blinked at the NightWing lying on the ground, eyeing Jasmin's tail-barb.
"Hm? Oh, we were training." Jasmin shrugged, and instantly stopped when she felt a familiar pain flaring up her shoulder.
"Can...you...please...get off me?" Deathbringer groaned. "I'm dying right now."
"Oh, sorry." Jasmin slithered off his back and landed awkwardly on the floor. Moon frowned at her ungracious movements.
"You should be resting, you know?" The young NightWing glanced at Jasmin's wrist, which were still red from shackles that had held her in place. "Wasp damaged you more than enou-"
"Don't," Jasmin interrupted, a spark of alarm piercing her body as she heard the HiveWing queen's name. "Don't. Say. Her. Name."
"Sorry," Moon said softly. "Glory wants to see you. You better go."
Jasmin nodded, and headed towards the village.
"Rest for a while!" Moon called.
"I can't hear you!" Jasmin shouted, and she disappeared as the rainforest colors swallowed her up.
