"there he is, my traitor boy!"

mark chuckles and gets up from his seat, greeting him with a dap. heads turn as the auditorium falls silent of the presence of the superior. jeno coldly glances at the surrounded students expressionlessly, causing them to immediately look away.

"my phone has been broken, i got it fixed just this morning."
"why werent u here yesterday anyways."
"i had better things to do. hows it going with ur girl anyways."
"not great. pissed her off since i canceled our plans last night."
"whyd you cancel." a questioning look prints on his face.
"eh. she kinda bored me out last date so i wasnt really feeling it last night."
"what about that side chick."
"which one bro."
"she had like dyed blonde hair. and always wore obviously fake and overdone lashes."
"oh shit her... fuck. i totally forgot about her. shes unimportant anyways."

it wasnt until then the pair realised that the principal already had stepped on stage, prepared to give a speech. he cleared his throat.

"have mister mark lee and mister lee jeno finished their seemingly so important conversation?"

they exchange glances and mumble.
"yes, principle kim."

"thank you." principle kim continues. "so today, we are all gathered here together to discuss our recent issues of attendance. me and other school personnel have noticed a worryingly massive tumble in our schools attendance. it appears like a massive proportion of our students are very negligent, incautious and irresponsible, and therefore, as your schools principle, together with your schools personnel, have came up with an amazing solution." a proud grin widens on his face, causing a rapid wave of anxiety sweep through in the auditorium.
"we want to note that your attendance is salient for your education to bloom and hope that this solution will have an influence on you. from now on, over 2 missed attendances per week will result in detention on fridays from 15:40 to 17:30, as well as detention during all pe, art, music and computer lessons during the oncoming week, where you take your time to reflect on your mistakes. if we notice a mass miss of attendance during a month - past 24 hours/month, saturday school will be assigned to you during the oncoming month. note that all punishments mentioned are mandatory at all costs and disrespecting the rules will result in serious consequences. a paper addressing this change will be given out to all students to be signed by their parents. we hope that this upgrade to our school will solve this problem and improve our students. there will not be any further changes made. please return to your oncoming classes. thank you."

"wow. thats fucking ridiculous."

mark scoffs and slaps his thigh, visibly annoyed, as the principle exits the auditorium, which is in complete shambles after the surprising announcement. mark and jenos class mentor gathers her class, ready to exit.

"so jen, how are you gonna adapt to this change. your attendance is mad low right now."
"im not."
"you kinda have to."
"k. i dont care. give me detention then, as if im gonna go."
"i know your mothers gonna make you jen. or your father, but i dont quite know him honestly so i cant know."
"fuck my father. good for you that you dont know him..." jeno scowls in a low tone, however screaming loudly with anger and agony deeply inside as memories flow along his path.
"why tho."
"stop asking questions."

silence fall amongst them as they walk to their classroom. classmates chattering in a complaining tone are heard throughout the heavy walk. a youthful female is seen in the distance, standing by her opened locker. her inky black hair flowing in pace with the cold spring wind, her charming gaze catching the attention of one of the pair.

"yo, you seen her before? isnt she kinda cute?" marks voice sounded enthusiastic. whilst the other sounded dull.
"no. i dont care."
"come on. why dont you? lifes way better with girls. you should try."
"lee. i dont give a flying motherfucking fuck about girls. and i know thats just a blatant lie. ive tried.., trust me."
"youve tried once. when you cant say you put in any effort..."
"i put effort in trying to like her."
"but didnt it go well?"
"dude. ive never had feelings for a girl. ive never had feelings for anyone. so you should stop trying to pressure them. they dont appear that way."
"whatever. i believe that youll find the one for you eventually."

the classroom door opens as the entering students immediately get hit by the cold air produced by the classrooms air-con. the students fill up the classroom and greets their mentor with a bow, who orders the class school council member to pass out the papers meant to inform the students parents about the recent changes.

"i wont be holding any further lessons today, your next lesson is mathematics. perform at your best for mr. jo. i do not want to hear any complaints like last time. actions comes with consequences. thank you class, you are dismissed."

"fuck off." jeno curses at himself. his maths textbook is nowhere to be seen in his unorganized locker. neither is any writing equipment. he looks to his sides and notices the perfect person to ask - the class quiet nerd.

"give me your maths textbook. and a pencil."
"but i-i only have one textbook..."
"does it look like i care. hand it over."
"b-but... i need..."
jeno rips his glasses off with such force, causing him to lose balance and stumble to the ground.

something, however, takes hold of the taken glasses and despite jenos stable grip, the glasses slip out of his hand. jeno turns over rapidly to see an unfamiliar black haired male stare sternly in his eyes, clasping the glasses.
