When i finished my work it was around midnight. She's probably sleeping, now would be a good time to go check on her. I try not to pay attention to Cairo's words. I locked my office door and headed down the long hallway of my cold mansion.
As soon as I arrived in front of her door, I knocked twice and after getting no answer I entered her room. Everything was thrown to the floor, the bed sheets thrown in the opposite corner of the room along with the pillows, books and notebooks torn and scattered on the carpet, the balcony doors open inviting the brisk, cold air to fill the room. A small snoring could be heard in the hysteria, so small that it was barely audible. Down on the floor beside the bed, was laying a small, slender figure.
"Elli"
"Mmm"
She can't sleep here with all this mess going in in her room. I cant tell miss Mare to clean it up in the middle of the night.
An idea came to my mind. I will probably regret it tomorrow but that's the only solution i could think of right now.
I bent down and lifted her up carefully not to wake her up. I also grabbed her teddy bear and after i closed the lights i headed to my room.
She is a very light and petite girl for her age. She doesn't eat enough and it take its toll on her.
I want to know what happened that night, in that house. I want to hear it from her and not from some banch of hepocteate doctors.
I want to earn her trust and the right to know about her past.
But she is your mother's daughter.
I stopped at once and looked down at her sleeping figure. Some stands of hair were falling at her face , covering her eyes and nose. Her mouth was firmly closed and from time to time you could hear her mumble something. She had piercings on her nose and both her ears.
Wake up little boy!
Did you forgot what her mother did to you?
Will you allow it?
Make her pay for it!
"Stop it" i said even though i know damn well that it will not stop. But at least i could try.
Waking up from my daydream, i continued my corse doward my bedroom.
Passing by my men they all gave me a quart nod in response to my presence. I paid no attention to any of them until i spotted Loki among some of my soldiers caming my way.
Everyone of them saluted me and left as quickly as they came.
" Sooo the rumors are true" Loki said with a smirk while lighting up a cigarette between his lips.
" Your little angel has softened you up" he said in a playful voice.
"Did he say anything useful?" I asked ignoring his statement.
"Not yet, but soon. We have his brother locked up too. What do you want me to do with him boss?"
"Leave him there a couple of days and then i will pay him a visit myself."
" Got it boss"
" Shut up before you wake her up." I hissed at him while Ellie was twisting in my arms.
" My bad , sorry boss." He whispered while holding his hands up with a ridiculous expression on his face. After he was done with his cigarette he looked at me with a pleading look.
" On the bean Loki. Don't you dear throw it on my floor." I ordered.
" I would never! How could you say that my dear friend?" He said offended.
I came to a stop infront of my bedroom door.
" Did you do what i asked you ?"
" I was on my way but i saw you and i wanted to say hello to my bestie" he said while he opened his arms to hug me but with one look of mine he immediately stopped, turned around and left.
Loki is my best friend since i could remember myself. He now works for me but our friendship doesn't effect our jobs.
I opened my door and layed Elli on my bed. I pulled away the covers so i could place her in the senter of my king sized bed. I cov ered her with the blanket and turned the light off.
I lingered above her for a while thinking.
Before leaving my roon i made sure to go and grab my pills from my bathroom, my laptop, my keys and i called Loki.
" Yes boss?"
" Are you done?" While i was talking to him i made sure Elli has her phone near her and a bottle of water.
" Yes sir."
" Good. Come to my room now ."
" Oh? I didn't know you were in those kind if things"
"Loki am not in the mood for your jokes. Just come. " i hang up before he could say anything alse.
After a few minutes someone knoked on my door. I opened to revile Loki holding a pair of pink handcuffs and on his head was a cowboy pink hat.
" Hello pretty boy. My name is Lili but you can call me however you like." He said batting his eyes.
What an i idiot.
" Cut it off Loki. I called you because i will head outside and i want you to gard my sister."
" Oh ok ,got it." He said straighting up.
I walked out off my room while closing my door behind me.
" Soo we won't need those?" He asked raising the handcuffs on the air.
" If you continue i will hang you from the seiling from your balls."
" Aggressive.. i like it." He said and when he realised i was not joking he paled.
" Sorry boss. Don't worry i will protect Elli"
The thought of her made me feel weard. I always was alone but now i have a sister that i have to protect. The problem is that , am i capable of that?
