Dally tossed and turned all night, if it got any sleep at all, it wasn't much. When one of the boys got up and the light from the bathroom crept under the door, I was worried they were going to knock. Being caught with a boy was one thing, being caught with Dally was a whole different problem. Around 6 it became quiet outside. The sky was clear and the thunder rippled gently. Darry was about to be home in an hour, I didn't want to wake Dally, he had just fallen into sleep, but Darry peaked his head in all of our rooms when he got home to make sure everything was ok. "Dal." I whispered, nudging his side.

"Hm?" He groaned. "Darry will be home soon." He nodded, and stared at the ceiling. "You can stay if you want, but you'll have to hide in the closet when he gets home." I offered. Dally laughed and turned to me. "It's ok doll face, I'll come back over later. I'm taking Johnny out today."

I nodded. I adored the way Dally cared for Johnny. It was a lonely place for both of them, Dally took Johnny under his wing, and Johnny looked up to him.  When he got up the bed creaked slightly, I was cold with out him wrapped around me. I had to stop getting used to sleeping next to him. Though with him next to me it was nearly impossible to get sleep, all I wanted to do was stare and memorize every little detail about his face, I seemed to be the most at peace with him there.

He got his clothes out of the closest, they looked to be dry for the most part. I stared at a few lonely freckles on his back, and then to his arms again, I could've drooled. Saying Dally was attractive was an understatement. He was handcrafted by god, everything about him was perfect. I didn't think he was necessarily ugly on the inside, I felt as though he was misunderstood and protective of what was his.

"What's in that pretty little head?" Dal asked once he was fully dressed. I shrugged, "I hate sneaking around." Dally frowned, and connected our lips. "Your birthdays soon, ain't it?"

"August first." I was excited to be eighteen. I was ready for the freedom it held.

"Then we won't have to sneak around much longer."

Before Darry came home, I began cooking breakfast for the boys. Going back to sleep was impossible. I hummed a tune that I couldn't quiet get out if my head as I flipped the last pancake onto the plate. "Someone's in a good mood." Pony opens the fridge and grabs the carton of milk. "Could it be because Dal spent the night?" I spun around so quick i nearly lost my balance.

"What are you talking about Ponyboy?"

I peaked around the corner making sure Soda was no where in sight. I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards ti back door. "How'd you know?" I whispered.

"Paper thin walls,you know."

I bit my cheek, "did soda hear?"

"You know storms put him to sleep quicker than anything." My heart beat calmed down and I let out a breath, "your secrets safe with me. Just don't make me mad." I laughed and messed my hands through his hair. "Go eat."

Though I made plenty for the boys, I wasn't too hungry and decided to get ready for the day. When I was dressed I made my way back to the kitchen where Darry and Soda ate. Darry read the news paper while Soda stared at the window. "Cooked and ready before eight?" Darry stared at me through the glasses that sat at the brim of his nose, "must be a full moon."

Soda laughed. "She's practicin for when she's a house wife."

"Not sure why I even came out my room. Good morning to you guys." I groaned stealing and piece of sausage from Sodas plate.

"We're only teasin..taste good." Darry gave me a smile. He turned to soda and took off his glasses, "I hear there's a rumble Friday?"

"Yeah, Dally started a big one." I hoped Soda didn't mention anything about why Dally started it, and to my surprise he didn't. "Yeah, well, that's what Dals good for. You stay away from that boy, you hear?"
