Author's Note: Hi, all! If you've been following along on TikTok, I apologize for my less-consistent posting. I know exactly where the story is going and how it will end, but my writing isn't where I want it to be, and I want to make sure I'm putting out the content I'm proud of. Hope you understand. If you're just following along on here, my appreciation is still equivalent. I'm still shocked daily that over 1,000 of you follow me!

A few days later, you wake-up to the date you always hate seeing on the calendar or your phone. If it could be erased from every year, that would be ideal. The only thing that makes you smile upon waking up, is a sleeping Loki in your bed next to you. He looks peaceful. Exactly how you wish you were.

After everything that happened yesterday when you returned to the tower, you and Loki easily slept-in. You fight the urge to stay in bed, but choose to leave anyway, and head to the mainroom.

"Hey," Tony pours you some coffee. "I know I ask you this every year, but are you sure you don't want me to come with you?"

You shake your head and take a sip from the to-go cup, one pump of cream and that's it, "I always appreciate your offer, Tony. It's just..." You sigh, "This is something I need to do on my own."

Tony nods, "Call me if you need me. Please."

You hear the pleading in his voice with the last word, "I will. Promise."

"Oh, and say hi for me, yea?" Tony turns on his way down to the lab. "I'm going in week or so with Pep, but..."

"I always do," you lightly smile. "I'll be back in about 2 hours," the elevator closes in front of you and it starts its descent.

As the tower stirs, a few more enter the main room for a late breakfast.

"No Y/N this morning?" Sam says with a mouthful of waffles.

No one answers for a bit, until Nat clears her throat, "They...went out."

Loki frowns, "Out? Out where?" He knew you weren't in bed when he got up, but did not think you would leave.

Nat and Clint exchange a look, and he continues for her, "It's December 16th. There's only one place they go on this date."

--------------------------------------------

It may be the middle of December, but the temperature isn't too bad, just a little windy. You put on a scarf and a heavier jacket to be comfortable, and now you're standing in front of your parent's grave. You and Tony chose a small, privately owned cemetery. Despite your family name being in the public eye, and literally in 4-foot letters on a tower, you both handle your emotions alone, without an audience.

Most of the time, you come and talk to your parents, or just sit and read, but today, you can't seem to find any form of relaxation. There are not many people out and about, but your nails are digging into your palms as if there are 100 eyes on you, "Shit." If you press any more, your nails will cause blood to be drawn.

--------------------------------------------

Back at the tower, Loki grows more impatient with the lack of answers, "Where is Y/N?"

"Visiting our parents," Tony says without any emotion.

Loki frowns, putting down his tea.

"Today is the anniversary of their..." Tony proceeds to explain, but Loki nods once so Tony doesn't have to finish his sentence.

----------------------------------------------

You've never cried. Not even on your own. Not once. Were you sad and devastated? Yes. Did you go to years of therapy? Yes. Never missed a session. Not a single tear was shed. Box of tissues left untouched on the table. Part of you is still surprised that you were not recommended for separate therapy based on that.

When the next breeze goes by, you feel tears falling down your cheeks, and you let out a sob.

----------------------------------------------

The mark on Loki starts to itch slightly, and he's suddenly overcome with everything you are feeling, "Stark."

Tony looks-up once again, "What now?"

Loki walks over to Tony, "I need you to trust me."

Tony frowns and practically laughs, "What? That's a pretty tall order..."

Loki rolls his eyes and places his hand on Tony's shoulder, teleporting both of them about 30 feet from you.

"Y/N very much needs you right now," Loki nods in your direction. "Go."

Tony looks to his right, but when he looks back at Loki, he's now alone in the cemetery, except for you.

Your tears have slowed slightly, but you are nowhere near ready to leave.

And then you feel a hand on your arm.

"Y/N..." Tony's voice is quiet at your side.

You exhale another sob, say nothing, and just turn and wrap your arms around Tony who does the same to you.
