Your frustrated tone causes everyone to stop talking, and for Loki to take a breath before speaking, "This will heal you. That part is not up for question or doubt."

"Great, then give it here," you hold your palm out, but Loki doesn't move.

"That is not all," Loki glances at Thor who nods. "It...will enhance you."

"Enhance how?" Tony asks with concern.

Loki licks his lips, "This will cure any ailments one has. But it also..."

You've been watching Loki's every movement, "It what?"

Thor steps-in when Loki remains silent, "It is given to the younger Gods who are deemed worthy to receive their eternal youth."

Loki's gaze remains on his hands that fidget in his lap, "Ok, so then why do I have it?" You ask Thor, "I am not a Go..."

"Heimdall and the Goddess of Youth, Idun, have chosen you as worthy. That," Thor nods to the piece in Loki's hand. "Is a piece of one of Idun's apples, sized to the portion fit for a Midguardian."

Even after Thor's explanation, you're only able to say one word, "Worthy?"

"Of having the lifespan of a God. Should you choose to," Loki slowly re-meets your gaze.

No one speaks for nearly 30 seconds, but Loki's words repeat over and over in your head.

You're staring straight ahead at the wall in front of you.

The movement of Bruce attaching something to you catches Loki's attention.

"To help with their pain," Bruce lifts the bag of liquid medicine.

Loki nods in understanding before turning back to you, "Y/N. Say something. Anything. Please."

"I...would live as long as you and Thor?" your tone is half fact, half question.

"Yes," Loki's mouth slightly curves into a smile.

"So..." you pause. "I either live 3 more days, or 3...thousand more years."

Loki swallows, "Whatever your choice is, Y/N, I will stand by your side."

You meet Loki's eyes before looking at Tony.

"WE will stand by your side," Tony adds on.

With each break in conversation, the only sound in the room comes from the beeping of the machines, "If I don't take this, then I die."

Loki, Tony, Bruce, and Thor stiffen at your words.

"But if I do, then...I watch everyone else die," you close your eyes at the realization.

Thor bites the inside of his top lip, "The curse of being a God."

Loki winces in understanding, but you wince as another wave of pain crosses over your stomach, causing you to also double forward.

"I thought you said the medicine was for the pain!" Loki growls at Bruce.

"I said it would help with the pain, Loki!" he barks back.

"This is probably not the time to be selfish, but..." Tony breaks their argument, which also causes you to exhale a laugh. "I've already lost mom and dad. I can't lose you too, Y/N."

The change in Tony's voice, from his humor to completely serious, causes you to look-up and see tears threatening to leave his eyes.

"We said this was Y/N's choice!" now Loki directs his snarl at Tony.

"Loki..." you try to calmly regain his attention.

"No! This is...I can't..." Loki's trembling hands run through his hair.

You look between a panicked room, and that's when it hits you, "I don't want to lose any of you either."

"Y/N..." Tony still wears his sad expression.

You look-down at the piece of apple next to you on the bed and pick it up, "Do I chew this, or swallow it whole?"

Everyone freezes, and it takes them a second to process what you just said.

"You're saying..." Tony speaks first.

"You'll have to put up with me for a while longer, Iron Maiden," you lightly smile at your brother.

"Gladly," he leans down and wraps you into a hug.

You squeeze and hold Tony a little longer and closer, and then your eyes meet Loki's as Tony pulls away, "Loki."

He switches places with Tony at your side, "Are you certain?" Loki sits down on the edge of your bed.

You nod, "Yes." But then your heart sinks a bit, "Is...are you ok with spending that long with me? I know it wasn't in any way what we had talked about, and now this is so diff..."

Loki slides up the bed closer to your side, "Stop."

You hear Loki, but now your mind is going about 120 miles an hour, "We accepted the fact that I'd be alive a lot less years than you, but now..."

Loki chuckles, "Gods do you ramble."

He pulls you to him and kisses you.

You get lost in the feeling of Loki's hand on the side of your cheek, fingers intertwining with your hair.

Just as your hand nearly makes its way to grip Loki's shirt, Tony coughing makes you lean away breathless, but now it's from Loki's kiss, not the pain.

"After you take that," Loki motions to the apple. "I will spend the rest of our newly extended time together proving just how 'alright' with this I am. Over and over again," Loki whispers the last few words.

Your eyes widen at Loki's words, as Thor walks over with some water, "Put the entire piece in your mouth, take one bite to activate it, and then swallow."

"Drinking the water will speed up the process," Loki holds the glass for you.

You nod, taking both into your hands.

"This is usually a painless process, however should you fe..." Loki starts to explain more, but before he can finish, you've already swallowed the apple and downed a third of the water. "Maybe next time you will allow me to finish my thought?"

You use a tissue from the side table to wipe your mouth, "I've got a few thousand years to allow that, but don't get your hopes up." You smirk as your toes start to tingle like your foot's been asleep.

Loki's jaw clenches, until he sees you flex your legs, "Are you in pain?"

You shake your head, "No." The tingle starts to move-up your entire body, "It's like...my body is being filled with glitter."

Loki's hand cups your cheek, "It is working."

After about 20 seconds, it gets to your head and finger tips, and when you lift your hands, what looks like gold dust is coming out of them.

"My Impossible Mortal," Loki watches in amazement, as he takes both of your hands in his.
