Author's Note: As I am typing this note, you INCREDIBLE people have made this story #1 in the Avengers category on here! Out of 78.8K STORIES! WHAT?! I know I've said this before, but you guys continue to amaze me and blow my mind. I have no words. Well, except the ones you're about to read ;)
You can't help but watch as Loki's thumb traces the area where the ring would be on your finger.
While he does so, his eyes stay fixated on you, "Do I have your attention now, Y/N?"
You nod, but still focus on Loki's thumb.
Loki moves behind you as his other hand moves to your mark, "Close your eyes for me."
You go to turn your head, but Loki uses his hand, lightly gripping your chin, keeping you facing forward, "Lok..."
He leans down right behind your ear, "Shh. Follow my instructions, Darling." His lips brush your skin, "Your eyes. Close them."
Your eyes slowly flutter shut, and then you feel a breeze surround you.
Loki keeps a hand on your shoulder as he steps back around to your side, "Alright. Open."
When you do, you're standing in a garden filled with thousands of flowers, causing you to spin around to see more. Tall flowers, short flowers. In every color imaginable. Bushes. Trees. Areas of grass, surrounded by cobble stone walkways.
"Asking you this in one of our chambers simply did not seem appropriate," Loki continues, but also taking in your look of astonishment.
"Loki, this is..." you take a breath in and can actually smell the flowers.
"An illusion," Loki clarifies. "However, these are my mother's gardens on Asgard."
You reach down to touch a flower, but your hand goes right through it, "All of this is still ve..." And when you turn back around, Loki is down on one knee, causing your eyes to widen, "You....Loki...?"
Loki looks down at the ground and then back up, "I have done research, and from what I have gathered, this is how a traditional proposal is to happen on Midgard."
You stare for a second at Loki, who then starts to rise up.
"Have I done something wro...?" concern suddenly floods his face.
"No!" you kneel back down with Loki this time. "Please. Continue," you notice Loki relax and nod.
"I...." he takes a breath and looks down at a small box in his hand.
You reach out and put your hand lightly on Loki's cheek.
He sighs and slightly nuzzles into your touch, "Your touch has haunted me since our first encounter in the tower that day."
You move to drop your hand, but Loki holds it in place.
"Please," he intertwines your fingers with his. "Never let me go."
Now your thumb traces Loki's cheek bones.
"You are the only one who truly sees ME," Loki pauses. "The only one who has never expected, or wanted, me to be anything more. Or less. Just...myself. As I am."
Your heart swells at Loki's words, as you fight back your own tears.
"And you are the only one I wish to do so. For the rest of my days," Loki lets go of your hand to open the box.
Your gaze shifts down to a gold banded ring, with a green stone in the middle, surrounded by smaller diamonds, which lead halfway around the band.
"Can I keep you?" Loki's voice breaks. "Forever?"
You're almost hypnotized by the ring, and the swirls of green inside of the stone.
"Darling, I only want you staring at me in such a manner," Loki tilts your chin up to him.
"It's...stunning," you take his hand once again.
"Me or the ring?" Loki smirks.
You laugh as your tears start to fall, "....yes."
"To which one?" Loki raises an eyebrow.
You lean forward and hover over Loki's lips, "Everything."
Loki moves slightly back to look at you, mouth falling open just a bit, "Are you sa...?"
"I get to keep you as well, right?" you tilt your head up with a smirk to match Loki's.
Loki brings your hand to the mark you left on him, "You already own my heart and my soul. They are yours to keep." He puts the ring onto your finger.
You follow the outside lines of the mark.
Loki closes his eyes, "Say it." His words come as a small groan.
You lean closer once more, but not stopping your hand movements, "Yes, Loki. To anything and everything, as long as it's with you."
In a split second, Loki's eyes open, and his lips find yours desperately.
Your hand grips onto Loki's shoulder, as his tangles in your hair, while his other still holds the ring.
When your eyes briefly open, you notice the illusion has faded, and now you're back in your room at the tower, "Did something cause you to lose your concentration?" You tease.
"As much as I admire my mother's gardens, that is not my choice of location for...admiring you," Loki traces your bottom lip with his thumb.
"You're admiring me right now," you watch Loki's eyes closely.
Loki follows your earlier idea, and hovers just above your lips, "Plus, we both know I prefer to show my admiration through...visual demonstrations."
Your eyes dilate and widen at Loki's words.
"And I can...smell it on you. Just as I could on Asgard. You definitely prefer them as well," a hint of mischief glazes over Loki's eyes.
You swallow, "I..."
"Shh. Let me admire you," Loki whispers as he moves to your neck and starts to kiss it.
"You..." you lick your lips to try and focus. "You said in every realm...?"
Loki's made his way to your mark and now leaves kisses there, "Every. Single. One." He does 3 long kisses between each word.
Before you can respond further, Loki lifts you around his waist and carries you over to the bed.
"Starting with Midgard," Loki growls.
