You spend the entire next day avoiding Loki, switching from the lab, back to your room. Luckily it's only one hallway and a staircase to navigate.
"Ah, there you are!" Thor speed walks up next to you as you nearly make it to the hallway.
"Here I am. What's up?" This God you can tolerate.
"I am to leave with your brother in a few minutes on a short mission, and I was wondering if you could...?" Thor begins as you both start walking.
You immediately know where that question is going, "I am NOT looking after Loki." You stop in front of your door.
"No! Of course not! Though, if he were to agree upon having someone do so, you would be the likely choice," Thor gets sidetracked.
"Ok, so if that's not the reason, then what is?"
"Right! I've been trying to find Loki, with no luck, and now I must be off. I was wondering if you could simply tell him that I've left food in the fridge for him," he flips Mjolnir in his hand.
You sigh. The last thing you wanted to do today was see Loki, but when Thor gives you the puppy dog eyes, you can't say no to him, "Fine. I'll check his room now."
"Thank you! We will return tomorrow," Thor pats you on the back and then is down the hallway.
You reluctantly make your way to Loki's room, silently cursing Thor out as you do.
You say a few more choice words under your breath, and then knock on Loki's door.
No answer.
Instead of knocking again, you push the door open. The faster you can say what Thor wants you to and be away from Loki, the better.
But the second the door opens, you regret it.
You're met with a sight of Loki sitting on the bed, shirt halfway unbuttoned, and his arm wrapped around a woman as he kisses her bare shoulder.
The woman has one leg draped over his, her arm looped over Loki's neck, and her other hand down the front of Loki's pants.
You finally blink, "Shit!" It felt like you stared for 10 minutes, but in reality it was maybe 4 seconds, before you quickly turned around. "Doors have LOCKS for a reason, Loki!" You close the door behind you, and speed walk back to the main room, immediately pouring yourself a shot of whatever is the closest bottle in the mini fridge.
Just as you pour yourself another round, Loki's voice sounds in the room with you, "Well, someone is quite flustered."
You're not sure if it's the alcohol, or associating Loki's voice now with the image burned into your mind, but you jump and look-up to a...solo? Loki, "Where is...?"
"An illusion," Loki moves his hand, and suddenly the same woman is standing next to you.
You reach out to touch her, but upon contact, she disappears.
With that, you throw back your second shot.
"Jealous?" Loki keeps eye contact with you, his eyes not revealing whether he's being serious or sarcastic, or both.
Either way, you can't hide your laugh, "You've never been more delusional!"
"I think you are lying," Loki takes more steps, now around the kitchen island where you are standing.
You squint a little, turning to face Loki as he approaches, all the while trying to get a read on him, "I think you've lost it. You're past delusional."
He rests his hand on the counter, "I think, you wish it had been you instead of the illusion."
Somehow you and Loki made it to be less than a foot apart, "I think, YOU wish it was me."
"Perhaps we both want this," Loki's hand now slowly moves up your arm.
Your breath catches, much without your permission, "Wh-what?"
His fingertip traces your collarbone, but his eyes are locked on yours, "I am done playing games, Y/N."
Everything in your mind is screaming at you to either slap Loki or run in the other direction, but before you can do either, Loki's lips are pressed to yours.
Your hand has nothing to grab on the kitchen counter, and you're momentarily stunned at Loki's actions. His gentle kiss is the complete opposite of his domineering presence literally seconds ago.
Loki takes one final step, so his body is now slightly against yours. His one hand finds yours on the counter, while his other moves to the back of your head.
Once again, your body has a mind of its own, and your lips slowly part, starting to kiss Loki back.
You feel Loki smile a little into the kiss when you don't stop him, and he moves, so your back is now against the island.
It may be the liquid courage, but your hands find their way into Loki's hair, pulling him even closer to you.
When you do, Loki groans and lifts you onto the counter, his own hands pulling you to the edge, so he now stands between your legs.
That gentle kiss has now turned into a battle between your tongue and Loki's, and you need more.
Your hands move to his shirt collar, as his have been massaging slow circles just above your knee.
Loki leans his forehead on yours, both of you taking a breath, but your hands never break their locations.
Your eyes briefly drop to Loki's shirt and top button, as do your fingers. When the first button becomes undone, you bring your gaze back to meet Loki's.
At the second button, he can't take it any longer, and kisses you once more, with the most hunger yet.
His hands start to travel further up your thigh, as you begin to hear a faint beeping that progressively gets louder each time.
"Y/N. Tony requests your presence in the main room," you hear FRIDAY's voice.
The beeping is now ringing in your ears, and your eyes fly open.
Instead of feeling the counter and Loki's lips, you feel the softness of your bed.
You jolt upright, and turn to see 9am flashing on your alarm clock, which you reach over and turn-off.
You press your eyes together to adjust to the sunlight now coming in your window, "Shit."
It was a dream. All a dream.
