Lost in Time

CHAPTER 3 DREAM

I stared at the burning castle. There were blood everywhere. The screams of terror and agony were overwhelming my senses. Soldiers were fighting demonic creatures with eyes as hallow as a deep hole.

I turn my head at the side and I saw my brother fighting one of the creatures. I scream as I watched it scraped Roe's side spilling blood in the process. A woman came rushing to my brother and a white wave hit the creature and it vanished. I was stunned, is that magic? I'm so confused.

The woman called my brother her son and started yelling at me about something. I felt something moved at my back. I turn around and through my reflexes I blocked its attack. The creature moved but I was able to pierce my sword into its chest. It made an odd noise as its body falls to the ground.

"Robin, hurry! Help your brother. You both have to go. You must be kept safe" the woman yell those words to me so I could hear. Though confused I helped my brother and started running towards the castle. The woman kept the creatures away from us by creating white waves. She's very powerful. We kept on running upstairs and corridors.

"Run!" She yelled again.

"In here!" She opened a huge double door room. I followed together with my brother. She closed the door and whispered something that I can't comprehend. Another white wave covered the door, it seems like a force field.

"It can't last long. We have to hurry" she said and begun chanting words that sounds odd. A light appeared, slowly it began to grew bigger. It looked like a portal.

My brother stayed limp on my side as I supported his weight. The woman gently touched my brother's side. Healing the wound in the process.

"You both have to stay together. Never leave eachothers side. We love you but you both have to go to be safe." She said.

"But mother we can't leave you. You have to come with us." Shocked by what I've spoken. I looked at her eyes. She's in tears. Her eyes showed love and fear.

"I can't" she said. "I have to help your father. I have to make sure no ones going to follow you. You and your brother must be safe."

"But I can't mother. We can help." I argued.

"Your brother is injured. I've stopped the bleeding but he is yet to recover. You both have to go". I nearly jumped as the door begun to shake. The force field is slowly fading.

"Go now!" She said kissing my forehead. She leaned towards my brother and kissed him to. Roe raised his head and held our mothers hand.

"Promise you and father will survive too." He whispered. Tears streaming down his cheeks. My mother just smiled and carress our cheek.

"Your father and I loves you so much." She pushed us towards the portal. She once again chant those odd words and then the portal's slowly closing.

The force field completely faded and a very scary creature appeared at the door. We watched as our mother fought it. But it was too powerful for her. It clawed our mother at her chest ripping her heart out.

We screamed in horror but couldn't do a thing. We were being sucked by a force. Before we lost conciousness, we saw our mother's body fell into the floor. The creature holding her heart and staring at us with its hallow eyes.

"No!" "Mother!" We both woke up screaming. Soaking with sweats we looked at eachother with our eyes both wide. I moved closer to my brother. We are both panting. Our hearts beating fast. He scooped me into his arms trying to comfort me but I know as well he was as scared as I am.

"The dream" Roe said. "It seems so real" he continued.

"We've been dreaming about it for a while now. Why?" I asked slightly trembling as I recalled the dream.

"I don't know Rob. I don't know." He answered while rubbing my back. I'm crying and terrified. I know he is too. I can feel it.

"Lie down. Maybe its just a dream nothing more. I am here. I'll protect you." He whispered. I smiled, I know too well he'll protect me.

We lie back down in bed. I put my head on my brothers chest feeling his heartbeat. He feels warm and I felt safe. I drifted back to a peaceful sleep moments later. It's really nice to have a twin brother like Roe.
