CHAPTER 16 MATE

Jerrod's POV

I walked out Matthew's office stunned.

All the time. She's my mate.

Stupid!

I should have realized it sooner. I remembered Matthew's last words to me.

"A mate to a Royal is not easy, you should be powerful enough. But in your case I think it should be easy. You are her protector. You just have to prove your strength"

I accidentally bumped into someone while walking absent mindedly.

"Dude? Are you a zombie now." Simon craned his neck to the side acting stupid as he is.

"Guess I should eat your brain then?" He laughed at my humor as we started walking outside.

"You coming? Were doing a border patrol." He asked as we headed to the woods. I just nodded.

I needed to breathe in fresh air though.

Loud screams echoed the cold night as we raced to reach the castle.

The soldiers were already out front as well as my father and his beta fighting such awful creatures.

My eyes zeroed on the twins as they were being cornered. I quickly shifted into my wolf and attacked one of the creature.

My markings glowing as I felt the current of electricity coursed thoughout my body sending shock waves as I snatched the creature beheading it in the process.

I stood defensively in front of the twins as the creatures staring to swarm at us.

An electric blue wave shot through the creatures as Robin swing her sword causing them to screech and vanish.

Roe on the other side, flicked his sword making it even bigger with white and dark energy surrounding it. Attacking the creatures slicing them as they completely disappeared through the darkness.

I turn my head forward and snarled at the creatures charging towards me.

I sent out a loud howl as more current of energy surged my body. I shifted to another form. I swiftly clawed each creatures spilling nasty liquids in the process.

For a while we fought them up to the last one. I was breathing hard as I searched for the twins. They were staring at me.

As a matter of fact, everyone are staring at me as if I am something different.

My eyes caught my own reflection at the castle window and my eyes grew wide.

I am not in my wolf form nor human form

My markings is glowing at my forehead as well as my back. My eyes were glowing electric blue as my fangs were elonggated.

My hair is slightly longer now as my ears peeked at the side like in my wolf form. My body is very huged with some hair sticking out of it. And my claws were huge as well as my feet.

I looked like a monster.

I turn towards Robin's direction as she moved closer to me. She lifted her hand to carress my face and I did not move a bit.

She smiled as her hand touched my beasty face. I leaned towards her hand and close my eyes as my ears flattened to the side.

"Your beautiful." She whispered while looking straight at me.

I open my eyes to see her glow as well. The electric blue current starting to build up around us swirling as it grew even bigger.

I could feel myself starting to shift back to my human form. Leaning up at me she gently kiss my cheek and whispered those lovely words in my ears.

"Mate!"

I fought to stay on my feet much longer so I could embrace her but my legs are giving out.

Seems like I lost all my strenght during the fight. She gently move under my arms as she supported my weight.

I am slowly loosing my consciousness as I watched her beautiful face.

"Mate!"

Her words continue to echo in my mind as I completely collapse in the darkness.

In the woods (third person POV)

More creatures were lurking in the darkness of the woods as they stare at the chaos in front of them.

They sent a small party to test the castle's defenses. A strategy to determine their enemy's weakneas and strenghts before a full blown attack. Seems like they have gone stronger than before.

Then a blurr of electric blue went flashing towards their target.

It stood in front of them with a glowing markings lying on his forehead. The leader stood straight as he watched the wolf changed into another from.

A vicious one.

Looking like a demon yet glowing like an angel. His face went into grim as he realized the energy that's swirling around the figure grew brighter.

Devouring his army in a savage manner. They were completely wiped out not long after. He was even stunned as one of the twins went closer to it. They glow together as the beast begin to transform into a young man.

He backed away with his army to the depths of darkness. He had never seen such beast before even with Alexander Thorne's reign.

If the beast stands guard with the twins. He might as well make a bigger plan as to how he will iliminate and destroy the beast first before claiming his victory and price.
