Light Lifts the Saddle
c. 04-09-23, Olan L. Smith
Watch the people as they go to and fro,
For they do not know from whence they come or where they go,
They walk with darkness in their heart and perceive not the path before.
Do not be the one who goes to the well and returns
With an empty pail because he finds the well is dry.
If you have ears listen, for in the heart is darkness,
The soul is heavy with the pain of life. Do not walk in shadows,
Release your burden. Open the shutters, and
Light will lift the saddle that weighs heavy on the soul,
And you will find your pail full of living water.
Unless people are reborn with water from the river of life;
They cannot dwell in the City, or partake in the Council.
A/N: The photo is of me taken by my father, Walter W. Smith, Sr., when I was between the ages of 15 or 16, years 1968 or 69. This is my dad's pose for me I call it the James Dean pose.
