Aphrodite's Mortal Lover
© 3-16-24, Olan L. Smith
It seems implausible you've forgotten.
She pivots her head back in shock, and I
Can feel her anguish. Eternal partners
Across various domains, I'm here andShe's caught between two universes as
An eternal goddess, while I grow from the vine
I planted. You left me, but why? You were
Free to stay eternal instead, you're justA name, a pale facade of who you were.
You would have put Apollo to disgrace. Still,
I will teach you about yourself. I
Will leave you three years hence, and I impartThe knowledge and skills you've forgotten.
You will never be by yourself. Hundreds
Of beings will always be by your side.
I will pull you from the depths of depravity.
