MCD!Zane Ro'Meave - Don't Try Anything

Idea: Y/n is a guard in Phoenix Drop. Zane comes for a 'visit'. Y/n isn't having any of it.

Y/n = Your name
L/n = Last name

The gates opened pretty slowly but everyone was patient. All the guards were at the gate to greet their visitor. Even Lord Aphmau. Though one guard stayed back, one guard wanted nothing to do with the visitor to the point where they were out of view. They were there, just not in view. Garroth wished he could do the same but as head guard, he could not.

As the gate finally finished opening. Garroth met with his little brother. Y/n's bow was drawn as they pointed it straight at Zane. No one knew what they were doing. They made sure no one could see them. Y/n only drew their bow in case anything happened. They didn't trust the High Priest, not even a little bit.

Talking began to be heard between the High Prist and Lord Aphmau. Soon the guards joined in. Y/n was too far to really make out what everyone was saying. Not that they cared, Dante would catch them up later.

The other guards thought that Y/n was being a bad guard and just not showing up. Though Dante knew they were watching. He didn't know where but he knew Y/n too well. Those two grew up together, Y/n never left his side. The two became like siblings and treated each other like siblings, almost unknowingly. Some of the villagers still even mistook them for siblings. Not that each other minded.

Y/n's arrow aimed right for Zane's shoulder. Knowing that if he were to be killed, that would cause way more problems than if he were to just get hurt. As much as Y/n wanted to let go, they couldn't. They had to wait for Zane to do something first. Which they hated.

Their name was called out by Dante, causing them to snap out of their thoughts. Y/n looked at him then Lord Aphmau. They were waiting for Y/n. They put their arrow in their quiver and jumped down from their spot. They made their way to the front gate then gave a bow to their Lord. "Lady Aphmau, you called for me?" Y/n asked, still in the bowing position.

Zane looked at the guard, he hadn't seen them before. Though their presence felt familiar. As though they've been here before and he just never noticed them. How he could he miss a whole person? He then noticed Y/n's bow. He gathered that they were a long distance fighter. So Y/n must've stayed out of sight and far away so they could have their advantage.

"Y/n, I would like to task you to watch over Zane as he stays here for a few days." Aphmau ordered. Y/n gave a nod and stood straight. "Of course my Lady." They responded. Garroth and Laurence looked at each other then Y/n. They accepted this. Even though they thought Y/n was lazy or just not fit sometimes. They knew Y/n was a good fighter and good guard. The options were Y/n or Brian.

The head guard couldn't watch over Zane due to some rules about the two being brothers. Laurence had already made plans to go to Metli, which he would have canceled if Y/n couldn't take on the task. Dante thought Y/n would be a better fit over him so he called for them. Between Y/n and Brian, the choice was definitely Y/n.

Nothing against Brian.

Y/n looked at Zane and walked over to him. "My name is Y/n, let me escort you to where you will be staying." They spoke as they put their bow on their back. Zane gave a nod and waved off his guards. "Lead the way." Y/n gave a nod and began walking. As they passed Dante, Y/n shot a glare. It had some playfulness to it, that only Dante could see. He sent a playful smirk back.

The Priest narrowed his eyes at the two. He hadn't seen such playfulness between guards in front of him. He wondered if the two were dating or something of the sort. This thought track didn't last long as he began thinking of his plans.
