End of the Line

I dropped him but caught him again. I took a huge sigh and started to pull him back onto the train. Suddenly another pteranodon swooped in to grab him and I lost my grip. The last thing I see is Ben falling and pteranodons diving after him before my vision goes blurry. "He's gone... he's..." Yas starts but trails off. "I won't believe it!" Sammy yells and starts running over to the side of the car but Yas stops her. "Sammy..." Yas starts. "No!" Sammy yells and starts sobbing. "I...I let go... I couldn't hold him.." I start to say to myself I'm disbelief. "I failed..." I say while starring at the ground. "We're going back..." I hear Darius say in a whisper. "The monorails going back" he yells right be we all get thrown by the turn.

"What do you mean we're going back?" Brooklyn questions. "We we switched tracks we ended up going north we're not going to the south docks we're going away from them." Darius says while messing with the controls but nothing is working. "Ugh doesn't anything here work" he says while punching the controls. Normally that would hurt but now I don't care anymore. "We gotta get off this monorail. Now!" He yells. Brooklyn goes over to the window. "The track dips down ahead we can jump there!" She announces. "What!" Kenji says. "Jump!" Sammy says in horror. "We can't it's to far to jump!" Yas adds. "It's the only way" Darius yells. It takes everything in me to stand up and head towards the edge on the monorail. "On 3" I say. "One...two... Three!" Darius says and we all jump. In all honesty I wasn't thinking about what I just did my mind was still on the fact that... he's... the point is when Darius said jump my mind was still fuzzy so I didn't see where I was landing and definitely regretted that.

When I hit the ground I snapped back into reality. Speaking of snapping I'm pretty sure I snapped my spin in half. I get up and realize I don't see anyone. "Hey guys!" I call out but there's not answer only groans but I'll take groans over silence. I head over to where the groaning came from and find the others still on the ground. "Is everyone ok" Darius asks. "Ish. Are you?" Brooklyn responds. "Bumpy where's bumpy?" Kenji ask while looking around. "I-I lost here when I hit the ground" he states and continues to call out her name. "Hey! Bumpy will be ok but we won't be if you keep yelling like that!" I whisper yell at him. "She's right there are still dinosaurs out here including toro and-" Brooklyn says but we both are completely ignored when kenji starts yelling again. "We gotta look for her, don't we?" Sammy ask. "No no we don't!" I reply. "And Ben! He might still be-" I freeze at the sound of his name but quickly shake off the shock. "How? We don't even know where they are!" Yas yells before she falls down to her ankle. "Attention. All park-goers must report to the south ferry dock for immediate evacuation. Last ferry departs in 60 minutes." We all hear over the speakers. "No chance we could get there on foot in an hour it's way to far!" Yas says. "Not if we leave right now" Brooklyn adds. "But bumpy and Ben!" Sammy says pleading. "We can't go back for Ben!" Brooklyn yells as silence falls upon us. "Bens....." "Gone... he gone and he's not coming back. We're on our own everyone is gone and it's up to us to try to save ourselves. Bumpy is a dinosaur she can survive here but we can't. We can still make it to the ferry but we have to leave now." I save with tears forming in my eyes but I instantly make them disappear. Everyone looks around in silence. We hear the speakers once more and finally Darius speaks up. "We have to go!" He yells and takes off. I follow him and so does everyone else.

We start running towards the docks but suddenly yas collapses. "Guys!" Brooklyn yells to tell Darius and kenji to stop. I run over to yas and look at her ankle. "How are you even walking" Brooklyn ask. "I'm highly motivated" Yas responds. "Get on my back I'll carry you" I offer as I knell down. "I got this" she says as she tries to stand up but falls back down. "She can't keep up like this!" Sammy says. "She could just get on my back...." I mumble. "We need a stretcher or a short cut or something." Darius says. "Short cut! That's it!" I say and Darius quickly catches on. "Kenji are there any tunnels around here that lead to the dock!" Darius yells while shaking kenji. "Kenji right!" He yells again.
