Snape didn't know why he was chosen for this mission, he didn't look like his Dark Lord, he didn't have a seductive bone in his body. Alas, he will have to channel his charming, charismatic leader when he finally makes contact with the target tomorrow.

It was Friday night and he had abandoned his post at Hogwarts to do reconnaissance for the most important task Lord Voldemort had given him to date~ seduce a powerful witch he needed at his side who was residing in the room above Webbs and sons Apothecary in Knockturn Alley.

Never before had his dark master admitted to needing anyone. Whoever this Witch was she must be a powerful weapon- someone to revere indeed.

Looking around at his surroundings, Snape had the horrible visual of the kind of woman who would reside in such a dangerous, deplorable and unpredictable part of London- especially this particular part of Knockturn Alley. It was all treacherous yes but where he stood was the sketchiest part of the place which was saying something.

He would have to touch this mystery woman, arouse and manipulate her with dark promises of power and pleasure to convince her to join the Dark Lords side. Irrespective of it making him want to throw up he had to succeed in this task- the consequence of failure would be severe. Sadly when he looked up at the dimly lit window again he could only envision a grotesque, smelly, old, horrible looking hag with yellow rotting teeth.

If she had any at all.
He thought despondently.

Snape shook his head and double checked the address on the parchment.

Yes he was in the correct place- Webbs and sons Apothecary.

It was just past midnight and although he planned to play his role in person tomorrow, when the Witch was awake and working in the shop below, he still wanted to do his due diligence and see what he was working with~ snoop around her things as she slept to understand what drove and made the Witch tick.

All the better to seduced her with.

Checking his silver death eater mask was on securely, he tugged on his raised hood one last time. It was attached to his long billowing black cloak and hid him from unwanted attention.

Just like the Dark Lord, Severus Snape could fly. He twisted into a black whisp of smoke and whooshed towards the top window in a blur- weaving out of the shadows he had used as cover in the notorious alley.

The window was locked with a complex protection charm. He raised a thick black eyebrow.

Clever Witch he thought to himself as he found it gave him more problem than he expected.

Finally it clicked open.

Gliding into the softly lit room, he used the shadows already present in the darkened interior to look around.

Stacks upon stacks of pristine looking leather bound books greeted him in tall towers. He himself possessed the very same in his private chambers but the sight still surprised him.

He wasn't expecting this.

Titles on Potions, Dark magic, Curses and Hexes, Harnessing your Animagus (well maybe not that one), Protective spells and sigils, Wand-less magic, Poisonous plants, Dark creatures, Ancient forgotten magic, Unforgivables, Strengthening the mind, as well as countless other banned and dangerous texts all glinted back at him familiarly.

Some rare dark volumes he had been meaning to acquire but could not get his hands on caught his attention but he wasn't here for that. This wasn't some relaxed outing at a bookstore.
