Olivia apparated to Hogsmeade then from there took the floo network to Dumbledore's office.

The room was eerily silent but for light snoring from past Hogwarts headmasters sleeping in their portraits.

Passing a wide awake Fawkes, she couldn't help but stoke him- having him lean into her affectionately.

He chirped, getting her attention.
To others the sound would have been incoherent- a mellow, somewhat low pitched tone mimicking a deeper version of a nightingale. For Olivia however she heard:

"This is for you" followed by "do you have any snacks".

She laughed quietly, glancing down at a letter peaking out from under his feet.

He was always hungry whenever she met him.

Olivia could understand animals as far back as she could remember. Sometimes when she stroked Fawkes too long and got lost in thoughts of how beautiful his vibrant orange feathers were- she started to feel hot all over and itchy under her skin. It reminded her of when she would shift into her Animagus form but more tingly and forewarned. In those instances she would stop what she was doing at once and that would be the end of the matter.

"I don't sorry" she said softly, taking the cream envelope which warmed in her hands.

An odd rush of magic rippled over her at touching the paper- she didn't know what to make of it.

Dear Olivia,

My apologies for not being here in person to guide you to your chambers.

I had an impromptu meeting at the Ministry.

If you make your way down to the dungeons, the living quarters for staff is the first left then second door on the right for Severus.

I hope you settle in well.

Have a good night,

Albus.

P.S.

There is a Honeydukes bar in my top draw should you desire it- I remember your fondness for chocolate.

She glanced up at Fawkes who was watching her sharply.

"Good news?".

"Just directions to my new chambers- I'm Potions Assistant now".

"So I heard, bout time if you ask me" he looked over her firmly.
"Didn't they feed you in Diagon Alley? You look like shit".

Olivia laughed.

"Still the flatterer after all this time" she smiled.

"I don't like it" he said looking at her slender frame.
"It makes me feel bad for asking for food- you clearly don't have any even for yourself".

Olivia rolled her eyes.

"I don't look that bad do I?".

"I wouldn't know what constitutes a good looking human, just that if I had to eat you there'd be nothing to peck at".

Olivia's mouth set into a straight line.

"Glad you're not a carnivore then" she snarked, putting her hand in her enlargement charmed dress pocket to see if she had anything.

Fawkes watched her attentively.

"Only some owl treats" she offered with an outstretched hand.

The orange bird ruffled his feathers and looked at her indignantly.
