Emilla couldn't sleep. She heard her parents talking downstairs, then something like a scratch on the door...
She got up to sneek into the living room just to see a big black dog come in.
'Uncle Sirius!' she shouted as she ran up to the man who stood where the black dog shook itself just a second ago.
'Hello little garden gnome!' he laughed and picked her up. 'How is my favourite Potter doing?' Sirius asked. Lily giggled.
'I'm deeply hurt Padfoot' James said. He acted as if he was going to faint.
'I thought I was your favourite... what will I do now?' he played and pretended to cry in his wife's shoulder.
'Oh, darling... It's okay' she laughed than put on a serious face, as she "calmed him down". 'Look what you just did! You made him miserable!' Lily joked around with Sirius.
Emilla laughed.
'What is miserable? Does that mean he's sad?' she asked suddenly. Sirius saw the look Lily and James had exchanged. He sighed.
'How can this little witch be such a genius?! Welcome on our broom dear, we are now headed only forward and we won't stop!' Padfoot tried to stay calm and act as if nothing happened. He ran with Milla in his arms, playing around until they reached her bed upstairs.
'Alright Mila, this is the end of tonight's journey!'
'No! Uncle Sirius I want you to play with me' She sat sadly.
He chuckled. Then bent down to her.
'Okay, if you go to sleep I'll come here tomorrow earlier so we can play anything' he whispered looking at the child's face that just lightened up.
'Okay!' She jumped up on the bed. Sirius stood up.
But! You have to sleep now!
Emilla exitedly wiggled herself under her blanket, got Wistly her plushy then closed her eyes. The man smiled. He said good night, turned the lights of and closed the door.
Emilla turned her back to the door. But she still managed to hear them talking. She silently stood up, and from the last two steps of the stair and listened.
'We have no idea... It's really unusual'
Lily said. Milly stepped up, and looked out carefully. They were in the kitchen. Her mother was standing in front of the fridge.
'Scary, you ment' her dad looked up. He was sitting at the table. 'I mean... four or five days ago... she came up to me and asked "when will Dumbledore come tomorrow? Will he have lunch with us?" We never told her about Dumbledore, she heard his name one time. And she hadn't thought about the name or... or anything. It's insane!' he said. Sirius looked at his shoes.
'How old is she? Five month?'
'Yes' Lily answered his question.
There was a longer silence between them. Emilla didn't know what was happening. She waited. Soon they heard a few knocks on the front door.
James jumped up.
'Wormtail!' He smiled a bit nervously.
'Hey James! Sirius! Hey Lily!' Peter stuttered a little as he greeted everyone.
'So... do you know the plan?' Sirius asked him. Pettigrew looked a little confused at him.
'Y-yes' he said.
'Okay' Padfoot broke the silence. Then lets start
James looked at the little man with worry in his eyes.
'Are you ready, Peter?' Prongs asked while Lily put out six moonstones on the carpet in the living room. Mila focused on them even more. She was curious about what was going to happen.
'Padfoot, please get the phoenix feathers and the dragon tears' Lily asked him and he got everything there.
She placed the phoenix feathers in the middle of the circle. Then she gave some leafs to Peter.
James crushed something into powder, added three pinches of salamander flake. Then gave it to Lily.
She sighed.
'Alright, now Peter you stand on the feathers' she started 'Sirius you stand behind the stone next to you, James you...' she said anxiously but saw her husband was standing right where he should.
'Does everyone has their bottles?' She asked looking around. Prongs and Padfoot gave a quick nod as their answer.
'Then let's start' James murmured.
Peter put the leafs in his mouth then held his arms in front of his stomach above each other. Lily, James and Sirius poured the drangon tears on the three stones they where standing behind. Then they held out there hands which already had the powder that James had given to his wife a second ago. Then they started to murmur together. The six hand started to glow. It was bright orange. The glow wandered around their hands and it connected above every second moonstone. The stones lit up with a strong white light. The orange met the white and started a wind. Emilla was crying but couldn't look away. She was scared and wanted to run away but her legs just wouldn't move. Peter screamed in agony, while the others kept on chanting, their words growing louder and louder.
'Ruhe saladuz syt vallhe! Ruhe saladuz syt vallhe! Ruhe saladuz syt vallhe! Fidellionna!' They shouted the last word.
The wind and the colours gave a huge blast and a big glowing orb appeared. The three around Pettigrew got their wand out and pointed at him.
The orb flew on Peter's hands. He screamed in pain. His hands where on fire. The fire was blue and soon after it was all over the man. Few seconds later the fire absorbed. The last flame disapeared above Wormtails heart.
Emilla woke up sweaty, with her eyes full of tears.
