Chapter 55

Her thoughts whirled in her head as he walked to the bus stop. Her head was hurting due to all the crying. Her steps flattened but didnt stop, she saw kabir standing near the bus stop. His hands in his pockets and looking as handsome as ever. Why would he be standing near the bus stop? Why would he even bother taking a bus when he has many shiny cars?

She walked down and stood near him in complete silence. What should she even say? Should she just pretend that all she never knew? Or should she just walk away like he was never a part of her life? But after knowing everthing he did for her can she even forget him?

His hand raised towards her and she looked questioningly at it. "Hangover pills".was his simple reply as she took it and didnt bother eating it. The silence continued. It was awkward but it wasn't peaceful either. Every now and then he kept glancing at her making her nervous. In the end she raised her hand towards him and it was now his turn to look questioned. "Your phone". She simply said and watched his face. His face went through thousands of emotions. He didnt knew what to say or how the phone even got there? What would she think of him? She would probably think he is a creep and took advantage of her. There goes his chance of taking her back. Her cursed himself and felt that he should explain.

"I-its not what you think. I-i" he muttered thinking of a lie. "I dropped you home...you were pretty drunk a-and" "i know"she cut him short. "Y-you know?" It came more like a statement. She bobbed her head. "I remember everthing. You dont need to explain yourself".she said. But poor kabir, he thought by everything she meant last night.

By the corner of her eyes she saw the bus coming towards her. "And by everything kabir" his name rolled of her lips so effortlessly he felt the urge to hear it again. "I mean everthing" and suddenly his head slammed back into his head. He wasn't sure if he heard it correctly. His eyes must have told her what his words couldn't so she nodded her head conforming his thoughts.

He lunged forward towards her but she had already stepped into the bus and the doors were the only thing separating them. He saw a lone tear roll down her cheek as the bus took off. He stood on the deserted bus stop staring longingly at the bus.

Chitra wiped the dried tears from her cheek. The interaction with kabir from just seconds ago didnt go well as she had no control left over her emotions. What was there left? Nothing. Just broken pieces.

***
Kabir tried desperately to look for her in the past few days. He searched for her everywhere but she was nowhere. When he asked about her in the café they say her shift ended, he visited the supermarket they said she quitted, at her home the door never opened he tried countless times but no one opened the door. All he asked for was a chance. A chance to love her again, to tell her about his feelings,  even if she rejects him he wouldn't say a thing its her choice but the worst thing he could imagine was her leaving the town. Or her finding someone else to love. He wont be able to control himself if she is around another man.

Just the thought of it had his blood boil. Oh where could he find her. He needs to talk to her about the future about the past about...𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚.

He ran his hand through his hands as he drove to the last stop he thought she where she would be.

And he was so true. There she was sitting on the shore watching the waves as the sun began to set.  Her face glowed as the sun rays fall on her face. He walked silently and she didnt even notice her maybe she did. But she didnt say anything. Taking the sign he Slowly sat next to her trying not to startle her.

"Why are you here?" She asked her voice so cold it made kabir wince. "Listen just talk to me-" she cut him short.  "What is there to talk about? What's left? Nothing?" Her voice sharp as she snapped tears were evident in her eyes.  "Us. Us is what is left. After all that has happened do you expect me to just forget and go on like all this was a dream?" It was chitra who winced this time. She closed her eyes to avoid the tears falling. "Tell me, do you want me to just go around and pretending this was all something just a miraj and not real". His hand raised towards her and cupped her face and she instantly leaned into him forgetting everything.
