RACHEL

Once after Ezra was forced to leave here, I asked Lauren to stay with me a little longer so I don't break down in the shower again. We decided to watch cheesy Rom-Coms like The Ugly Truth, The Wedding Planner and How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days which was Lauren's choice of movie so she could quote the whole movie, "Hmm.. See I told you that warm chocolate chip cookies are better delicious in chocolate ice cream," Lauren jokes as stuffing a big scoop of ice cream in her mouth, I'm so happy Madeline had a huge bunch of cookies that it made the house smell all good.

"You were right. Did you bring some clothes with you?" I ask with a mouth of cookie chucks, she nods yes, sets her bowl down on the nightstand and walks to my bag by the walk-in-closet that's filled with Madeline's clothes, "Holy shit!" Lauren yells inside the closet; I go to the closest to notice Lauren standing in front a full length while holding up a blue and lacey lingerie set, "What's matter?" I ask.

"That is so pretty on you," I tell her, look though the other pieces of lingerie, and Madeline comes in with a plate of fresh baked cookies, "She's right. You look stunning in that but try this,"she goes over to a dresser and pulls out a white bodysuit that has little ties on the back.

...

An hour later, Lauren left for a dinner date with her boyfriend, Tyler that she has been seeing for a month now, from her smile that didn't leave her face and seemed happy. I laid out a outfit for school and work since I only have few more manuscripts to work on and finals before winter break comes up which is next week; it seems unreal that I started college three months and my life take a whole new turn with surrounding of toxic people and things but the greatest things happened like getting a internship in the biggest company in Oregon, only being a freshman and... Ezra.

God, I miss and hate so much at the same time. All I could think about are him, the way he smiled when he was tickling me until I couldn't breathe or how his vivid green eyes looked if the sun hit them when we woke up in bed. Every touch. Every kiss I miss, thoughts start rushing through my brain as I lay my head on my pillow to fall asleep but something is missing and it's him.

As soon as I woke up, I called in sick at work and school because I don't think I wanna bump into Ezra in either place. He would just want to talk.. I mean lie to my face like he has been since we met; I changed into a purple shirt and high waisted jeans that were in my suitcase, so gladly Lauren packed my brown winter boots. I grab a spare jacket that Madeline was so kind to give to me, along with my phone and go downstairs.

I go to the kitchen as Henry and Madeline make breakfast, like making a green colored smoothie and she stands over a hot grill to do the waffles, "Good Morning," I greet him, and he hands me a cup filled with the smoothie, "Thank you. Do you mind if I could borrow one of you guys' cars today?" I ask, he nods and reaches down to his suit pocket and throws me his car keys, "Take my car. Please be careful on the slippery road and fill up the car when done," he gives me directions, I nod yes and smile as I head to the front door.

...

When driving to the apartment, I probably pulled over the car twice to relieve out some pain because everything there just reminds me of fake moments of us being together or whatever we were; also I give myself some directions, take your stuff, leave nothing left and leave when you can before he comes home since it's Monday and he has half days at school so he can put in more work hours. Moments later, I arrived at the place, took a breath before entering.

I unlock the door for maybe the last time, and immediately look up, Ezra sitting on the couch, and he looks more shocked than I'm to see each other. Even though it's been a day, it feels like forever but I look as pretending he doesn't exist and head upstairs without a word.
