16-Papaya

Fae'liin

"Heyy" i heard quietly, "hi" i laid in my bed just staring forward

"wait...hi"

I rubbed my eyes to make sure i wasn't still dreaming...

Neteyam sat in front of the bed just staring at me, whats he doing here?

"good morning"

"morning" i said my voice sounding raspy. I tried to get my eyes to focus but everything was so bright so i kept having to squint my eyes like an idiot.

Wait

now wait a minute...

I took a few seconds to look around and i was surprised to see that this was not my room.

I went to sit up but then i felt like someone started hitting me in the head over and over... with a rock... showing no mercy

"ow" i whined "my head hurts"

"yeah i figured, so i got you some water" he said handing me a bowl

"oh, thank you" i took a sip and it didn't really help, but at least it was refreshing

"i also cut a papaya for you"

i looked at him confused, why is he being so nice? "thank you"

I smiled at him and took another sip

"by the way um- uh- what do you remember?"

"oh um" i laughed a little but i instantly found out that laughing made me feel like my head was exploding, holy fuck

"it's all coming to me" i smiled at him, "but wow i really didn't expect for me to feel like someone was crushing my brain"

"is it bad?" he asked

"well i'm sure it could be worse" i lied, well maybe i did and maybe i didn't but i was totally trying to downplay the monstrosity of a headache that was going on in my head

"alriight" an awkward silence filled the air, but thankfully i didn't have to break it, because he did "everyone is at breakfast right now so imma see when i can get you out of here"

he stood up and walked towards the door, "hey- um thank you"

he turned over his shoulder and glanced at me and i saw his eyes softening

"-for last night" i thanked him

"no problem" he said, his voice comforting and sweet.

He came back shortly after and told me that they would be done any minute, he didn't say why he didn't want them to see me but i think it's pretty obvious. What would they think if they saw me coming out of his room... when they hadn't seen me come in?... oh lord, now i'm thinking about it aren't i? yeahh...

"Tuk asked about you"

"whaat!" she is now officially my best friend, bye bye Reya "awww"

"she talks about you a lot" he admitted, laughing a little. Aww, i'm used to kids liking me but it's different when i like the kid too.

"so you have to hear about me all the time" i joked sighing dramatically and rolling my eyes

"yeahh, it's exhausting" he said exhaling like it was the end of the world,

"i can only imagine, having to listen to such praises all the time" i said popping a papaya bite in my mouth

Neteyam chuckled and rolled his eyes, then i saw his eyes focus on the bite i just picked up
