"Dad i don't want to" i said firmly, trying to hold my ground. He keeps trying to set me up with that girl

"Son listen to me, she comes from a respected family and is a wonderful girl. Give her a chance" he said putting his hands on my shoulders and kneeling down to face me.

"okay" i said, ultimately i would have to in the end anyway. Father gets the final say.

"Look i don't want you miserable, if it really isn't going to work out let me know son." he said and walked away, he won't stop blabbering on and on about us putting down roots.

"you know i'll never have to put up with that" Lo'ak said from across the room

"Tsireya is the chiefs daughter" he said sounding cocky, riiiight

"what makes you so sure you're going to work out?" okay, maybe that was a bit harsh but i wonder if they have talked about it

"bro what the fuck, thanks for the support" he scoffed, yep okay a bit too harsh

"i just mean how do you know their family will be okay with it?" i mean, it's not usual for different clans to mate

"they love me-"

"shut up!" he laughed, we both know it's true

"i'm sure you'll work out one way or another".

I went off to do my task for the day, it was quite an easy task that could be completed within an hour so i don't mind.

As i am sitting here by the storage minding my own business i hear footsteps approaching, i took a peek to see who it was and it was Kyeyeri AKA the girl i went out with. I still can't believe i set myself up when i said a girl asked me out, i really didn't want Fae to know, and not to mention she didn't even ask me out. It was totally a lie, it was me who asked her out purely for the sake of dad.

It's not that i care that Fae knows it's that i thought it would be awkward...

"so are you also doing organising?" oh

"um yeah, there's not a lot left"

"i can see that" she laughed

"here let me" she said taking the rope i was coiling, touching my hand in the process

"oh alright"

We stood there in silence after that as i watched her coil the rope. When she finished she dropped it to the other ropes

"soo how have you been?" she asked when she walked back from the pile of ropes

"i've been good"

"i thought we could maybe go out again" i said before she could say anything, give it a go he said.

I'd rather ask now than have to go up to her later to do so

she smiled "i was waiting for you to say that"

"so it's a yes?"

"of course it is" she said looking down at her feet and blushing

"well i'm free tonight"

"so am i"

Okay great, now that's out of the way

"well i'll meet you at ten" i said flashing her a quick smile before walking off.
