Neteyam

Dad was still annoyed with mother for letting Lo'ak have a sleepover, so things were tense. In a weird way he wasn't mad, just annoyed... or stressed?

Father is often unreadable, but he wasn't always like that. He used to be... goofy almost, he would tell me all these weird jokes that i never understood but laughed along with anyways, sometimes mother would chime in proving him wrong and he'd put on a frown before kissing her and then proceed to shoo her away. But things have changed. I think he got paranoid, but who knows really? He won't open up to anyone but mother.

"Teyam you in there?" Tuk called in my room "yeah i am" Kayji said imitating my voice, well... trying

"ugh Kayji why are you always here" she groaned walking in, she doesn't like Kayji and frankly, i don't think he's very fond of her either.

"Um i am not" he scoffed throwing the little broken shell piece he was holding at her

"ow!" she yelled, holding her forearm, her eyes roaming the floor looking for the piece. She sighed giving up and dropped the act "i'll get you next time" she whispered squinting her eyes at him, pointing aggressively at him.

"Bye Tey" she smiled at me sweetly, leaving as if she had no intention of doing or telling me anything.

"Dude what is her problem?" he asked bluntly

"she's seven..."

"when I was seven I did not act like that" he said lifting his finger in the air swinging It along with his sentence.

"Hmm sure"

...........

"We can trust him!" mother said annoyed, Lo'ak had still not come back home after his so called 'sleepover' and dad was having none of it. Me and Kiri just sat on the ground listening to them argue, it was nearly 12AM yet he was supposed to come home an hour ago, and i was starting to get worried as well. It's not like this is unusual for Lo'ak but it'd be nice if he could give us an update, see if he's, you know, still alive?.

"Oh really? With all the crap he has done you expect him to behave?"

"okay you're right, butttttt" she dragged "he asked nicely"

Father sighed looking down and nodded briefly, "Neteyam, go find him"

"Yes sir"

"Quickly thank you."

Mom glared at him a second before looking back and smiling at me.

"thank you sweetheart" Mom whispered over her shoulder.

Kiri followed me, i guessed she didn't have anything better to do than finding her possibly dead brother.

Me and Kiri walked in silence for a around five minutes before she broke it with a wave and a 'hi' to some girl, i've seen her hanging out with her, but i've never heard or met this girl. "Who's that?" i asked,

"Ryoan" she smiled, "she's not very nice"

I blinked, "what?"

"but she's weird so i like her" Kiri chuckled.

We kept walking in silence until we spotted Tsireya, sitting in the sand chatting with Aonung, Rotxo and Fæmer, no Lo'ak. We exchanged glances before walking in her direction. "I'm sure he's here somewhere" Kiri reassured, but we both knew it was highly unlikely.

"Hey Reya" Kiri greeted her nervously picking at her bracelet "where's Lo'ak?"

"Oh he went home" she sweetly said, "longgg ago" Aonung chimed in laughing "you lost him?" he continued.
