love-sick sirius____________________________________
"I'm telling you, I mean it, this is it." He grabbed the girl's shoulders and shook gently, as if that would miraculously help her understand his realisation.
Eyes wide with shock, she peeled his hands off her leather jacket, "Sirius you've literally never spoke to this person in your life"
He gave her an exasperated look and put his hands up in the air, "Mary, you need to be on my side, not against me."
Mary stifled a laugh, and throwing her hands up with him, "I'm on your side which is exactly why i'm telling you that there's no possible way you're in love with a tire dude you've met one time."
She moved around him to sit down on the black couch that belonged to sirius, it was draped with a large knitted blanket, that had intricate designs of all the moon phases, surrounded by stars.
"His eyes, he looked at me." Sirius dramatically stumbled over to Mary, falling onto the settee, setting his legs over her lap. This made her let out an excessively loud snort, quickly trying to cover it up with a small cough, "That's good to know."
Sirius gets what she means, they've never spoken, he doesn't even know his name.
"I need to see them again. Like preferably tomorrow, preferably now." He raised his head to look at Mary, and she looked back.
Traces of laughter vanished and with a sympathetic smile. She patted his knee gently and looked at the clock on the wall behind him, "We can go tomorrow and see if he's working the Saturday shift."
Sirius nodded frantically and shifted up so he was sitting straight, his legs still across her lap. Mary was a good friend, and a close one too. When Sirius was in school, Mary made sure he never got into too much trouble, and it must of stuck even after school finished too.
The last race Sirius had two days ago, was also the first time he'd seen this mystery person he was undoubtedly in love with. He didn't even know his name, it was killing him and he wanted to repeat it over and over again until he couldn't feel his jaw, till his tongue was numb and swollen.
Sirius couldn't help but picture the amber-leaf eyes of the boy. The tacky orange jumpsuit he was wearing made his almost blonde hair shine against his scarred face. He had an almost 4 inch scar track across his nose, and all sirius had wanted to do was reach out and follow its path to the boys pink lips.
"Regulus won his race today, by the way." Mary took her hand off his leg and brought it to the side of the couch.
Sirius hummed, far too busy thinking about the boys face, the drops of dark brown that were placed along his eyes of honey. "He doesn't even have a name."
Mary looked at him, visibly confused "Who? Regulus?"
Sirius shook his head, still zoned out, staring at the rug, "No, the tire boy." He glanced up at her, tapping his fingers against his dark jeans. "Moony."
"Moony? Is that some sort of innuendo?"
Sirius barked out a laugh and shook his head, "No, no, it was a full moon the night of the race. He can be called Moony for now." He thought it fit perfectly, it was simple and Sirius had always been fixated on the moon, seeming as he was a star.
Mary nodded in approval, she knew how his brain worked and had learned by now that Sirius is just going to do what he wants. Which is why she also knows that Sirius will find out who this boy is, and god help him when he does.
"Anyway what did you say about Regulus?" Sirius has fully sat up now, swinging his legs off her lap and down onto the floor. He usually did this with Mary after every race Regulus had, constantly asking if he'd won. Now this isn't to say that Sirius despises Regulus, but there's a part of him that admires Regulus for leaving their home, and he wants to know if he's doing okay.
"He won the race, no difficulty." Mary knew he cared about Regulus, no matter how much he denied it to her when she brought it up. But she seen it in the way he looks at Regulus when he's racing, the look of pure pride as he flies through the track. She sees it when him and Regulus argue before races, the way Sirius never says anything out of hand to him.
"I wonder who he gets it from," He gives Mary a cheeky grin and nudges her knee with his elbow, which makes her break out into a laugh and push him away.
