Magic.

An overrated term when writing fictional books solely for the purpose of entertaining young children.

Or perhaps not?

Perhaps Magic is much more. It was the blessing bestowed upon females by the goddess. It only brought healing and peace to the planet through women.

Until the balance ended.

A boy emerged with the ability to perform the arts, blinded by a greed for power and knowledge that was not meant to be. His power corrupted him slowly until he was no longer human...but something else entirely. His hunger for strength bloomed one hundred fold as he destroyed everything in his path.

This was the beginning of something new. How dark magic came into existence.

Luckily, this evil magician had a brother, a loyal and knowledgeable boy. Determined to right a great wrong, he too learned magic to stop his brother.

Later on, another magiker had joined the centuries-long battle. No one knew where he came from, but he gave the evil wizard the fight of his life.

The three battled for centuries, the sides of light and dark continued to shift. The people called these god-like wizards the Three Legends.

With the help, the good sorcerer exiled his brother into the fiery depths of hell, never to be freed. The evil wizard, known as the Green Wizard could not be contained for long. The villain broke free and was forced to work from the shadows, waiting for another pure soul to try to defeat him.

For that is why no child should wander the streets alone after dusk.

Tria knew this story well, for her mother had told it to her every night—well, she had actually begged her mother to tell it every night. She'd never see magic herself, but she believed in it like the gullible child she was.

But then she came face to face with what magic could unfortunately do in the wrong hands...
