"I don't understand why they leave us in suspense like this. We all know I'm the next Legend." Vex boasted, sneering.

"Didn't you say that the Legends weren't real?" Zadro muttered, reading a book in the corner of the empty classroom. They were waiting for instruction but the Headmaster hadn't arrived yet. Vex shot a burning glare toward the teen, but Zadro didn't fall for the bait.

"I still don't know how to feel about all of this." Romelle sighed. "I guess I'll go with excited unless I'm given a reason otherwise."

"Ugh, I have to work for one of you brutes?" West groaned after Saiyah told him that girls couldn't be Legends. This news soured Romelle's mood.

"Don't give up hope yet, West. You still have untapped potential." Saiyah said encouragingly.

"His only potential is being a human flashlight." Vex snapped. "And that's exactly what I'll use you for when I'm a Legend."

"In that case, I'm rooting for Zadro." West hissed.

"Hmm?" Zadro lifted his head from his book, not paying attention to the conversation. His stark bangs nearly covered his pale eyes, it reminded Saiyah of someone. Said someone having a completely different personality and was likely a demon of somesort.

Then Banthikaar entered the classroom, disturbing Saiyah's train of thought. "We'll be starting with team exercises. You not only have to act like a team, but think like one as well." Vex rolled his eyes. "And that means thinking of your teammates before yourself, Mr. Tsudan."

"What kind of exercises?" Romelle inquired.

"We'll start with simple trust exercises."

West winced, "Like....trust falls?"

Banthikaar stroked his black anchor beard thoughtfully, as if considering it. "Yes, like that."

"If you drop me, I swear by the Saints I'll make sure you never sleep in the dark again." West growled, standing on the top of the desk. Zadro shrugged, his face was stoic. He held out his arms to catch his classmate. West fell backward, shrieking as he did.

Despite being shorter, Zadro was strong and caught West with ease. The only hint of his struggle was a small grunt. "I got you."

Near them, Saiyah reluctantly jumped, expecting to feel the hard tiled floor. But to her surprise; strong, dark skinned arms wrapped themselves around her. Saiyah yelped, surprised that Vex actually caught her. "You actually followed instruction, for once." It was meant to be a light jest, but her voice was so hoarse from lack of use that it sounded more like a cold remark. Vex scowled and dropped her, making her heart leap into her throat. Her hip slammed onto the floor and she opened her mouth in a silent gasp.

"My turn! My turn!" Romelle exclaimed, climbing up on a desk. Saiyah sighed and stood beneath her, arms extended. Romelle leaped, and Saiyah fell at the sudden weight. They both tumbled onto the floor in an undignified pile of limbs. Saiyah let out a moan. She may not have caught her friend, but she absorbed most of the impact during the fall.

"Sorry!" Romelle gasped, jumping to her feet. "Are you okay?" Saiyah managed to nod, but all of her energy had been drained.

"That was....acceptable." Banthikaar muttered. He sipped a mug of coffee as he sat at the teacher's desk. "Now, we're going to do a maze.

He led them to the gym, which had been sculpted with high walls. A human maze. "One of you will be blindfolded and another will give directions on how to clear the maze." Saiyah looked to Romelle, unsure how this would go. What if her classmates gave her the wrong direction and she'd make a fool of herself? "But be warned, if you are to hit the walls, you might experience a....small shock." There was a smile on the Headmaster's lips as he said that. It made Saiyah's stomach squirm with anxiety.
