BLACKFOREST REIGN

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

"I can't believe you two. How can you guys do that?" Pran asked, "how can you allow Pat to get inside my head" 

"It was either that or allow him to find somebody else to do it for him and we can both agree that the less people know the better"

Andrew defended.

Pran kept quiet as Andrew explained knowing that he was right, but still the fact that Pat got inside his head left him unsettled.

That meant he knew of his feelings for him, he knew about the deal he made with Ezekiel. He knew that he was turning into a hybrid.

He knew everything now.

Pran pushed back his hair in frustration, he couldn't imagine what Pat must be going through.

He hadn't come home and he was nowhere to be found. Pran had stayed up all night waiting for him but he never came. 

Now he knew the real reason as to why. 

"On other news" Wai continued, "We have heard several reports that animals were found dead from the forest 20 km away from here"

He stated as he roamed his eyes over the notepad he had in his hands. 

"Yeah! I heard the same thing from the patrol guys" Andrew commented, "What do you think could be the possible cause?" 

"I'm not sure. It's hunting season, maybe wild animals attacked" 

"I highly doubt it. The men said most of them weren't eaten just drained of blood" 

"Do you think it's the vampires? But who could possibly do that?" 

Andrews eyes set on Pran who was constantly looking down from his phone, 

"Are you expecting an important call, Pran? Because if not I'm pretty sure Pat is fine wherever he is. He's a big boy" 

But Pran only glared back at Andrew. 

"Did you check the vampire house? He's usually there" 

"I did. I called and he's not there" 

"He just needs some time to cool off" 

"What were you guys even thinking? Agreeing to do what he asked" 

"He was worried about you. He really was. And to be truthfully honest, I'm tired of keeping secrets. I for one am glad he found out" Andrew stated. 

" Glad? Tell me you joking" 

" I'm not saying -" 

"Guys!" Wai called out, "Going back and forth ain't helping anyone at the moment. I know we are all worried about Pat but we can also agree that he can very well take care of himself. What we need to worry about now are the dying animals. The wolves are expected to go hunting soon and we won't be able to hunt if there's no animals to hunt" 

They stayed quite for a while before Pran went to take his jacket, heading out towards the door

"Well let's go. I need some air anyways"  he stated.

The air around them wrecked with the smell of blood. The sight was even more nauseating than they had imagined.

Dead animals and splatter of blood everywhere. It shocked all three of them, just what kind of animal was able to do this.

Pran could see Wai and Andrew walk all over the place, taking a look at the dead animals. Walking closer to a dead wild wolf, Pran kneeled down, gave his respects to the fellow wolf and began to assess it.
