CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

"I'm here to see Pat" the young man stated

"Uhm, Mr Pat is currently away and I'm not sure when he will be back. In the meantime you can see Mr Pran, he's also -"

"I want to see the hybrid and that is Pat"

"Uhm…." an evident frown displayed itself on the young lady, "You are mistaken sir, we don't have a hybrid and Mr Pat is definitely not a hybrid - "

"I can only see Pat"

"Uhm -" the secretary lady was tongue tied, she didn't know what to say or what to do. She eyed around until her eyes landed on Andrew coming downstairs,

"Uhm Andrew, Can you please come over here for a minute?"

"Yes Amber what is it"

"Mr - "  she looked at the man standing before them,

"Rain"

"Mr Rain is here to see Pat and I have told him that Mr Pat is currently unavailable but he seems to be very much adamant on wanting to see him"

Andrew glanced back at the man. He hadn't seen him around BlackForest before.

"Just like you have heard from our secretary, Mr Pat is currently unavailable but you can also see our other lea-"

"I will only see the hybrid," he stated. That made Andrew cough out choking in his own saliva.

"Ahh yes! I forgot to mention, he's under the impression that Mr Pat is hybrid"

"A hybrid you say"

Andrew set his eyes onto the man that stood before him,

"I'm sorry but we don't have a hybrid. And I can assure you Pat is not a hybrid"

The man only let out a chuckle and gave Andrew an unknowing look as if saying he knew more than what Andrew was letting on.

It made Andrew question himself a little bit. How did he know Pat was a hybrid? The only people that knew were him, Wai, Korn, Pran and Pat. Did any of them tell someone else?What was he to do now?

"Amber, I'll take care of this. Thank you. Please follow me Sir"

And the man followed Andrew up until they got inside Pran's office, where it was safe for Andrew to ask him questions,

"Who are you? Why are you looking for Pat? And why did you call him a hybrid?"

"Who are you!?"

"I'm Andrew, Pat's friend"

"I'm looking for you friend to warn him"

"Warn him of what?"

"A word got out that he is a hybrid and so I'm here to warn him. People want his head on a platter"

"Whoa whoa, hold on a minute. First thing first, where did you hear that he's a hybrid?!"

"I'm not saying anything until I see and speak to him myself" and he looked determined.

It took a few minutes of Andrew contemplating before he took out his phone and called Pran. It rang a few minutes before it got answered.

"Yes"

"There's someone here who wants to see Pat, and he insist on seeing him"

"Who?"

"A Mr Rain, I'm not who he is but he seems to be under the impression that Pat is a hybrid."

"Is that so?!."

"Well he wants to see him. And Pran… I think we should listen to him, there is something you should also hear too. Want me to bring him?"
