Pran had never cared much about people hating him nor disliking him.

He told himself as long as his family and friends lived and valued him, he would be able to live with the hatred.

But here was Pat who couldn't bear to look at him, nor stand being in the same room as him.

As much as he tried to not show how much it bothered him in the presence of people, when he was alone, he cried to his heart's content.

He was hurt to be able to witness his mate acting this way towards him.

His heart was in immense pain and right now there was no cure for it, especially finding out the real truth behind it all.

No one was aware of it but only the High Council.

No one knew that the rogue's were the ones that harmed Nay and not their own vampires.

Everything was messed up and all he could do was wallow on his guilt.

Pran remembered that day he found out what Korn had done for Nay, he had been full of regret.

He had gone to his hospital to apologise, he thought he would feel much better, but after seeing the state he had been in, Pran broke down.

The Korn that was lying in bed wasn't the Korn he knew.

He looked different. Pran knew he would heal as time went by but the images were now forever planted in his mind.

If only he had known the truth that time.

Whatever it is necessary

Mrs Canal's words played in his mind, somehow he didn't like the sound of that.

He didn't want to hurt and make plans that could cause pain to his people.

He didn't want to become a leader who would sacrifice his people how he saw fit.

He didn't blame Mrs Canal for her actions. He understood her.

He made the same choice when he was faced with a dilemma. He sacrificed Korn just like Mrs Canal sacrificed the vampires, all for BlackForest.

After days passed, Pat was released from the dungeon. It had been so awkward between the two, but Pran kept it together.

Pat didn't harm him nor say anything back to him, he just ignored him and his presence up until now.

He had tried to talk to him, he had tried to apologise but Pat didn't care much for it.

He soon let it be but didn't stop in making sure Pat did see how apologetic he was.

He soon began to do much for him, iron his clothes - even though they had maids who could do that, send him his blood lunch bottle to either the vampire house or in the high council, whenever Pat was during the day, Pran ensured he got his bottle.

Whether Pat threw it away or drank it, Pran never knew but what he did know was that each time, the bottle always came home empty.

For some reason that gave him hope. He wanted to make amends.

It was hard for Pran to live in this type of situation but he told himself, he would give him time and space until he began to speak to him once more.

What happened had hurt him a lot, and perhaps the trust that was supposed to be built between the two was now distant and the gap was far too great.

His scars had healed but the trauma was still there.

It came as a surprise really, when Pran discovered that what happened to him left fear and trauma.
