Pat watched as the town's community hall began to fill with vampires, werewolves and witches, all taking their designated seats.

They were sitting as per their factions.

The High Council members sat behind him all lined up while he stood at the front centre of the stage waiting for all present to sit down.

Once they did, they all payed attention to the young boy in front of them

"I called you here today because we have a great deal to discuss"

He let out a sigh,

"I know some of you here are upset and angered over the dealings of the past few days and I can assure you all, that it hasn't been easy on any of us either. Ezekiel being a part of the town's production was unintended but due to certain circumstances - "

"What certain circumstances?!"

Some of the people shouted demanding to know

"Pat, if you are going to address us, please be honest with us. We are not stupid. We don't want any more lies",

Another added.

An uproar came about that it took a few minutes before the crowd could calm down and before Pat could continue.

"Ezekiel had this town under siege. He had his men inside our town pretending to be one of us. BlackForest is a big town, and we can all agree we can't know everyone here. So he was able to infiltrate us. We didn't know the extent of his plans, we didn't even know what his plans were. And that is why when he brought forth his proposal we had to take it. We didn't want anyone to be affected because we knew he was desperate and a desperate man can do anything to get his way"

They all sat quiet and listened.

"What about making him a member of the High Council?"

"Yeah! Yeah! What of that?"

Some screamed.

Murmurs slowly erupted.

"Don't take us for fools" some shouted.

Pat saw all of them make another uproar.

It was weird seeing all 3 factions in one accordance, usually it was hard to get them to agree on anything and they never agreed on anything.

But here they were, being on the same side. Was this one of Pran's plans?

Was this what he intended to do when he made Ezekiel to be a member of the High Council, so many questions crossed his mind.

"Ezekiel owns 40%, he can clearly sell it if he wants to but we don't want what's ours to belong in the hands of people we don't know. So to make him feel appreciated and less inclined to sell, it's best to make him as comfortable as he possibly can and if that means making him a part of us then so be it"

Pat knew what he was sprouting was nonsense but nevertheless he had to tell people something to calm them down.

For the last few days Pran had not been feeling well, he had been off and Pat could see he was getting tired by the day.

He had black circles under his eyes but what's more frustrating was Pran not willing to tell him anything.

He was burdening everything himself.

The meeting carried on for hours talking and addressing issues around town.

People from the crowd talked off their concerns, some had complaints, one way or the other it led to shouts and threats from all factions.
