CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

There were piles and piles of reports on his desk and he had been through half of them ever since morning began.

So many things needed their attention and new projects were emerging.

For instance the second hospital had to be built and the only big enough space available where it could be built was in the Vampire community.

This was going to cause animosity between the factions. Another interesting offer they were given was the reconstruction of BlackForest roads.

A construction company pitched its offer to the management, being Mrs Canal with a few of the council members and was taken into consideration.

Another proposition was to consider allowing humans to live and take residence among BlackForest and this proposition was brought up by the witches.

That had come as a shock when Pat had run his eyes through it earlier. Humans living in BlackForest town.

Pat didn't even want to think about the consequences of it. It was going to be problematic but for now he didn't want to dwell on it.

He had bigger problems to worry about.

Earlier today he had released a statement to the people of BlackForest informing them about the current situations they were faced with and the fact that he was a hybrid.

He awaited to see the reaction from his people, would they accept him or deny him? The verdict awaits him.

In 20 minutes he was leaving to address them but from how the staff went about it in the High Council chamber, Pat was worried.

They showed instant fear as well as immense hatred towards him, something that Pran had warned him about. But despite that he was glad his parents didn't see him differently.

Before the release of what he was to his people, Pat had visited his family to inform them first hand of what he was.

As he entered the house and walked further into the familiar living room, the first thing he was able to see were his mother's tears.

Glistening her beautiful face. She had broken down the minute her eyes fell on his son.

"My baby, my poor baby" she stated as her hands roamed Pat's face.

"Mum" he called in a low voice, "Please don't"

"What have they done to you?" she asked, "what have they turned you into?" she couldn't contain her cries and the more she cried the more Pat was hurt.

He hugged her so tightly.

"Son" his father had called out when he came down stairs

"Dad" he moved to him when they broke the hug. He hugged him too

"I don't care what you become or what you are. It will never change the fact that you are my son" he said.

"And my brother" Paa had called out as she was told by the door, "You are my brother and I will always love you… no matter what you are" she let out a smile.

"I don't care if the world hates me but as long as you guys are with me, I can overcome anything"

"And you will. My son, the leader of BlackForest, will triumph. You will not fall, not by anyone's hand"

When he went to see his parents he didn't know which reaction they would make.

He wished he could have had the confidence in the answer but his mind allowed him to have the benefit of the doubt.
