This last week has been incredible, the girls here are so welcoming and open to learning from each other. Age and experience mean something but the more experienced players aren't afraid of going to a younger player and learning from them.
Leah and I have also grown closer which I didn't believe was possible, we spend more time together and even though we basically lived together back home, sharing a room with her is so comforting.
Today's Friday so we have training from 10 am until 2 pm then we are free to relax or do whatever we would like for the weekend. It's now only 2 weeks until the opening game of the Euros against Austria and I couldn't be more excited.
I'm not expecting to start, nor am I expecting to play, but I have been working as hard as I can to prove to Sarina that I deserve to start.
Training went by rather quickly, mainly focusing on passing. Sarina and the coaches had split us into those who are close to one another on the pitch so we could work on how we will pass to each other, hopefully, to get the ball in the box.
I was with Lauren, Nikita, Ellen and Fran and we each worked on how in different situations we would pass to the ball to create a chance.
One thing I loved about England is the detail in their training, all clubs work on passing in training, but at camp, they go into such detail on how to pass, when to pass and who to pass to. As well as what to do once you have received the ball.
After training, I went up to the room for a shower instead of the changing rooms. Knowing we had a free weekend, I wanted to properly wash my hair, not just rush it.
I used a hair mask and all the oils before drying and straightening, knowing straight hair was the perfect base for any style I may want to do.
Some of the girls organised to go out that night and I was invited, I instantly agreed knowing how much fun these girls are in a relaxed setting, I could only imagine what they were like on a night out.
Leah, on the other hand, was going to see her mum for a day or so meaning she opted out on the night.
We all went down for a late lunch, there weren't many of us left as a good amount of the girls had gone home to see family or partners.
This just left me, Lauren, Ella, Beth, Lucy and Bethany England going out tonight.
"So what is everyone wearing tonight?" Lucy asked, trying to gauge what the dress code was.
"If I'm being honest, me and Robin are the only ones here who usually wear dresses so there is no point asking us" Ella stated and she wasn't wrong.
"True, so everyone except Robin and Ella, what are you wearing tonight," Lucy asked, this time chuckling at herself.
"I'm wearing a matching black blazer and trousers with a crop top underneath," Lauren said, earning some nods from around the table.
"Yeah I'll probably wear something similar" Bethany added, setting the tone for the dress code.
Ella turned to me, I assumed to ask about my outfit for tonight.
"Leah has gone home for the weekend right?" She asked instead, catching me slightly off guard.
"Uh yeah, why?" I replied smiling, It always made me nervous when people asked me about Leah, I think it was because I was trying my hardest to keep it a secret, and every time someone asked me about her I felt I had been caught out.
"Can I come and get ready in your room, please? G has gone home and I don't want to get ready alone that's boring?" A wave of relief took over my body when she asked.
