A/N: I apologize that this chapter is shorter than the usual chapter lengths. Today I had more free time than expected so I wrote another chapter.

No, he could worry about his mission later. Right now Hawks and Dabi were talking about themselves. They weren't talking about their villain-to-hero ratio.
Hawks lifted a hand and placed it on Dabi's shoulder in an attempt to reassure him. He was unsure if any more words would help the situation's awkwardness but, he felt it was the best thing he could do.
Dabi slowly lifted his head to look at the blond. His eyes moved from Hawks's left eye to his right in search of something, anything.
Hawks only smiled back softly allowing the skin around his eyes to ever so slightly crease.
"Weren't you-" Dabi began but stopped himself to reevaluate what he was going to say. "Weren't you upset that your parents didn't recognize your quirk for what it was? For how powerful it was?" Clearly, Dabi was looking for reassurance about his anger toward his father.
"Well, my parents never paid attention to it so I figured it was pointless," Hawks said slightly dejectedly and he dropped his hand from the other male's shoulder. "Though, I can't imagine being told how amazing my quirk was and then-" Hawks continued wordlessly using gestures to communicate the rest.
Dabi pursed his lips and returned his gaze back down where his fingers were now resting along the hem of Hawks's shirt.
"I don't know who your dad is or who your brother is but, I think that your quirk is really powerful and I think your dad made a mistake ignoring you after your brother was born." Hawks was unsure where the sudden encouragement came from. "I mean, you're one of the most renowned villains in all of Japan so, I think that must mean something."
The darker-haired male scoffed at the blond's words. "I guess. But, when your dad is one of the most renowned heroes in all of Japan, where is the comparison?"
Hawks was a little thrown back by the dark-haired villain's words. Was his dad actually one of the most renowned heroes in all of Japan?
"It's ironic because nobody knows the torment he put me and my siblings through."
"When you mean torment-" Hawks tried to ease into a question before being cut off.
"I would have to cover the cuts and bruises I received from our "training" so that kids and adults at school wouldn't get too suspicious."
Oh. That type of torment. Hawks had known that feeling all too well. However, Hawks never endured "training" like Dabi. His dad was just... physically intense.
"I guess I was lucky to never have to worry about covering up the cuts and bruises my dad gave me," Hawks spoke softly.
Hawks didn't have to speak in detail for Dabi to understand. Both of them had somewhat similar childhoods and yet, they turned out to be completely different in the end. It was refreshing to meet somebody both males could relate to.
Slowly the fingers that played at the hem of Hawks's shirt slipped around his waist and pulled him into a hug. The positioning was awkward but, Hawks wasn't going to ruin the moment. As easily as he could, Hawks slipped his hands around the dark-haired villain allowing both of their chests to sit against each other.
Dabi softly muttered a cuss under his breath as he released heavy uneven breaths against the fabric of Hawks's shirt. A moment later and the dark-haired villain sniffled which caused the blond the tighten his grip.
When had Hawks cared so much about the dark-haired villain? Who cares... Dabi was a person too and somebody had to be there for him when others weren't. Hawks's grip wasn't going to loosen anytime soon and he was okay with that. In fact, Hawks too needed a hug. Though he had hugged many fans throughout his time as a hero, no hug truly felt warm enough. That was, until now. Perhaps Hawks needed this hug just as much as Dabi did.
"Thanks," Hawks whispered softly into the other male's torso before feeling his own nose run with heat.
