Jungkook stared at the ceiling wishing he had a bottle of soju. He was craving a drink badly since he couldn't sleep. He knew that he couldn't drink but that didn't stop the want for it. It was one of the stipulations to being Jimin's companion. No drinking. He understood why but fuck if he didn't want to say fuck it and leave here get hammered and come back after sobering up after a good night's sleep. But he wouldn't do that. He knew the amount of trust Jimin's parents had placed in him when they had hired him to be Jimin's live-in companion. The amount of trust Taehyung had put in him recommending him for it.

Jungkook sighed as he rolled himself up into a sitting position, his feet hitting the cold floor. He ran his hands through his hair as he stood up the sheets that pooled at his waist when he sat up slinking down to rest atop the bed as he left it. Jungkook walked into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. He looked like shit. It was understandable though. He probably slept maybe two hours if that. His body was exhausted, but his mind just wouldn't stop fixating on the fact that today marked four months since Junghyun had passed away. Since Jungkook's world came crashing down around him.

Jungkook swallowed thickly fighting off the burn that was overtaking his eyes as he turned the faucet to the sink on and splashed his face. Splashing his tears away. He went into autopilot after that going into his morning routine before he found himself in the walk-in shower the scalding hot water seeping into his tired muscles as it ran the length of his body down into the drain. Jungkook, after standing there longer than necessary washed his hair and body just to sit under the hot spray of water again. Jungkook remained under it till he couldn't anymore the water turning cold. Upon getting out of the shower he dried himself off slipping his boxer briefs on and walked back out into his room. Jungkook rummaged through his drawers grabbing the first things he could find which ended up being baggy grey pants and a long-sleeved white shirt. Jungkook ran his fingers through his hair tousling it which was still damp from his shower before he left his room.

When he stepped out of his room, he glanced in the direction of Jimin's room upstairs. He wondered if he was still sleeping. Considering it was still dark outside he probably was. Jungkook, with that in mind quietly made his way through the sitting room out into the kitchen. In the kitchen he rounded the counter to the fridge and quietly pulled it open grabbing a bottle of water. He walked back around the counter and headed for the front door and found that it was wide open which only meant one thing, Jimin wasn't sleeping. He was up and likely down by the lake. Jungkook stepped through the already open front door and walked across the deck stopping at its edge. His eyes swept the landscape before him and spotted Jimin wheeling himself down the boardwalk trail that led straight to the lake just as he figured Jimin would.

Jungkook twisted open the bottle of water and brought it to his lips. As he pulled a drink from it his eyes never left Jimin who had by now reached the dock that led out from the boardwalk trail. Recapping the bottle of water Jungkook made his way down the very same path that Jimin had taken. Upon reaching the dock he stopped and just watched Jimin who was in the process of engaging the locks on his wheelchair. Abruptly, Jimin tipped himself out of his chair which had Jungkook stepping forward, but he immediately stopped when Jimin caught himself by his hands pushing himself up into a push-up position. Jungkook stood there rooted in place as he watched Jimin walk his entire body forward away from his chair with just his upper body strength. As Jimin did, Jungkook could see the muscles in Jimin's arms flexing despite the long-sleeved shirt he wore. Jungkook crossed his own arms against his chest impressed as he continued to watch Jimin put distance between himself and his chair.

"Enjoy the show?" Jimin asked as he flipped over onto his back laying against the dock to stare upward at the still dark sky.

Jungkook chuckled lowly to himself shaking his head as he closed the distance between the two of them. Things between him and Jimin had been better since the first time Jungkook found Jimin down by the lake in the early morning. They still snapped at each other on occasion, but they were tolerable of each other, which was an improvement from how they started off. It helped that Jimin had accepted albeit begrudgingly that Jungkook was there to stay much to Jungkook's own amusement. Jungkook when he reached Jimin sat down next to him just as he had the very first time, he'd found Jimin out here.
