Jimin stared up at the night sky loving the way it glittered above him as he lay on the dock. He didn't care that it was cold, ignoring his shivering because outside here he could at least breathe properly. He had been feeling suffocated with Taehyung's presence in the house. It wasn't any fault of Taehyung's but his own. Jimin was literally just waiting for the other shoe to drop so to speak. It was like every time he saw Taehyung, he was waiting for him to scream at him. To yell at him and tell him that he was a piece of shit, an asshole, for treating him the way he had that day at the hospital and the subsequent time after that he ghosted him. But it wasn't what happened. Instead, Taehyung would give him that big boxy grin that Jimin was always on the receiving end of when they were close friends. Still wearing his blinding smile, Taehyung would ask him if he slept well, if he was hungry, or if he needed help with anything. And Jimin would just dumbly shake his head yes or no unable to speak because he just didn't understand why Taehyung was treating him like he never wronged him. Granted Taehyung had told him weeks ago when he reunited with him in his hotel room that he had forgiven him the day everything happened, but still. He deserved Taehyung's wrath not his boxy smiles.
Jimin was still trapped in his spiraling thoughts when Jungkook approached him after stepping down on to the dock. It wasn't until Jimin felt something heavy being draped over him, covering him, that he realized he wasn't alone. Jimin looked up to find Jungkook frowning down at him. Jimin didn't need to ask why he was frowning because he knew the reason.
"I was going to come back in a few minutes." Jimin spoke quietly, eyes directed back at the star strewn sky.
Jungkook sat down next to Jimin crossing his legs before he tucked the blanket around Jimin's shoulders leaving only his head exposed to the cold.
"I didn't say anything."
"Your face did."
Jungkook sighed.
"I just wish you'd not come out here in the middle of winter like this especially without a blanket or something warmer than a sweatshirt."
"I felt suffocated." Jimin spoke barely above a whisper.
"Taehyung?" Jungkook asked even though he already knew.
Jimin didn't respond outside the subtle nod of his head.
"Jimin this is why I worried about him being here. Staying here."
Jimin pushed himself up with his forearms and all the way upright with his hands and twisted to face Jungkook.
"I know, but you needed him. Need him."
Jungkook reached forward grabbing ahold of Jimin's hands which felt like ice.
"Come here." Jungkook tugged Jimin forward.
Jimin went to Jungkook like he wanted and leaned into Jungkook's side body shivering from the warmth that seeped into him as Jungkook draped his arm over his shoulders after readjusting the blanket to encompass the two of them.
"I know I need him, but I also need you to be okay. And before you say you are, I know you aren't. Taehyung knows it too." Jungkook added softly.
Jimin felt guilty all over again, his shoulders slumping as a result. Jungkook rubbed the length of his upper arm with the hand draped over his shoulders as his other intertwined with his hand the was fiddling with the drawstrings of his sweatpants. The heat of Jungkook's hand burned against his cold one which almost had him pulling back but Jungkook just tightened his hold as if he knew he was going to. Jimin bit his bottom lip, chewing on it as he gazed at the water of the lake which was frozen over in some places. Eventually he finally voiced the turmoil he'd been feeling regarding Taehyung.
