Bruce Wayne/Batman POV
Ariana and I talked about everything until she stopped abruptly, tilting her head up as if listening to the wind
"There's someone in the house," She said, her eyes flicking everywhere "Top floor. Going through the rooms. One by one. Not trashing. They're looking for something" She thought for a moment more "It's Joker. He's with someone else"
"Harley" I grumbled. Two maniacs in the house at once.
"Everybody else is downstairs...In a cave? I'm not going to ask" Ariana stood up, walked to the bottom of the stairs, and started climbing. I heard some muffled confrontation, and when I ran up to help, Ariana was bound up, but fighting hard against Harley and Joker, who were having a hard time keeping her restrained before they leapt out the window they'd broken to get in. Dammit.
Ariana's POV
I was tied to a chair. SO original, Joke. He was rambling to a live screen about a ransom
"Hey Joke!" I shouted, "Why did tie someone who can be classified as a weapon to a chair by only their wrists?" I jumped up onto the chair with some wrist pain and jumped over the back, giving me full usage of the steel chair Joke had tied me to. He struggled, but I got him in a position where I hit him over the head with a chair multiple times with satisfying smack sounds with every contact. I stopped when I small splatter of blood appeared and turned to the screen "Sorry about that" I said, then whacked the screen, breaking it, cutting off the stream as a window shattered somewhere to my left and Batman came through "Hey" I shrugged
"How?" Jason asks
"Eh, me being me, I guess" I hold up the chair "Can anyone remove the chair from my hands?"
"You beat the Joker in two minutes with a steel chair," Another boy says
"Yup," The rope is cut as my pendant starts buzzing insistently. "Well, I have to go" I run to the broken window, jump out, and let whatever god needed me to go do them a favour and let them teleport me to the place I need to be.
