Ariana's Trials

Part 32

Ariana's POV

I was catching up with Kaldur, and when he and his friends left, I walked to the sick bay to check on Peter, who had been claimed by Janus as soon as we came here. he was still unconscious. Maybe I used too much of the sedative. He was going to bleed out otherwise, so I made the right choice. I hope he doesn't remember.

"Will, I've got an errand to run" I turned around and frowned as my pendant buzzed. "Back in a bit" I clutched the glass snowflake as I jumped into the pool.

I was falling. I could see a desert and a wall behind me

"LET'S GO!" I screamed, and I flipped in the air a couple of times before I landed with a boom. I could see some shocked faces on top of the wall, and I just grinned and waved as I turned to an approaching dust storm. It looked like a giant drill and a few tanks. I shrugged and charged.

3rd POV

"WHO THE HECK IS THAT?!" Sung shouted. he was pointing to the woman who had landed in front of the wall and was running right at the charging drill.

"I don't know" Everyone shrugged

"They must be crazy" someone said "To run straight at the tanks..." They watched as the desert blew up in an explosion of dust, leaving the tanks tires buried in sand and the drill head planted firmly downward in the ground after the cloud settled

"HOW IS SHE DOING THAT?" Sung shouted again "HOW IS ONE WOMAN DOING WHAT A TEAM OF PROFESSIONALS CAN'T?!"

The woman chose that moment to jump up on the wall

"So, I guess you want an explanation. I have time for..." She turned around and looked at the tanks "Three quick questions"

"What kind of bender are you?" A boy in the group asked

"No idea what that is" She shrugged

"How did you do that to the tanks?" An older girl asked

"I kicked them," She said

"Where did you come from?" Sung asked

"The sky" With a mock salute, she stepped backwards off the wall and fell.

Azula was annoyed. The attack had been stopped by a single woman who proceeded to beat every single soldier sent at her. Ty Lee had just left to defeat this fool, and Azula decided to watch the attackers defeat

She was thoroughly shocked when she saw Ty Lee trapped beneath the attacker's foot, both wrists caught by one hand

"You have tricky fingers, baby girl. Shall I cut them off?" The woman snarled, then snapped her head over to look at Azula "Lucky for you" With a stomp, Ty Lee was out of action as the woman turned to her. 

With a lightning-fast strike, Azula struck out at her

"You want to dance, little girl? let's dance" The woman launched a flying kick and struck Azula's face, Azula hit the woman's stomach in return, earning an 'Oof' from the attacker. 

Ty Lee groaned from her position on the ground, and Azula could see the Avatar exiting the drill. A wave of fury rushed through Azula, and she broke away from the fight to pursue her long-time prey, but a steel grip wrapped around her arm before she was out of range.

"Oh no, little girl. We fight to the finish" With a hard yank, Azula pulled out of the grip and struck out as the woman jumped up and kicked her with enough force to launch Azula off the tank. "That was fun, Little one." With an evil grin, the woman jumped away to mutilate the drill further.
