there was nothing like getting woken up at five in the morning after a long, drunken night by two desperate runners.florence was having a delightful sleep when she sat up, heart beating uncontrollably at the terrifying sound of two fists pounding on her door.
naturally, flo found herself absolutely terrified, taking a split second to hesitate and wonder, hm, should i open this door? but, when a familiar voice whisper-yelled, "flo, please help i think i'm dying," she realized it was probably smarter to let them in.
flo stood up, pushing herself from her bed, and walked over to open the rusty door and reveal the sight of a fucked-up looking minho and ben. the two looked absolutely rocked from the night before, although ben seemed to wear it prouder than his companion.
"hello?" she creaked quietly, voice still getting used to being awake and alive from her sleep coma. "can i help you?"
"hangover pills," is all that ben said, eyes drooping every second.
florence blinked. once, and then twice, and then, "are you kidding? you woke me up before the sun even rose for that?" she dropped her head sideways, leaning it against the door frame in exhaustion. "go be men! fight it off!"
minho didn't seem to agree with the girl's answer. "we're running," he hissed. "you want us to collapse from a painful headache and then die in there? is that really what you want?"
"uh, no," florence replied dryly. "what i want is for you to stop complaining and put big-boy pants on. i can't keep wasting pain medication on you guys! besides, it's your fault you drank so much knowing you had a literal shift the next morning."
the boys hated when florence was right.
luckily for them, florence also hated the idea of knowing that they were running through the maze of hell while combatting major headaches and nausea. so...
she broke the silence with a heavy sigh, stepping backward with an arm spread wide to welcome the duo into her cabin. "come in."
with a grateful grin, the two boys giddily skipped up the steps and into the shelter of the small house. minho closed the door behind them, cutting off the night's thick humidity as best as gally's architectural design could.
meanwhile, flo grumbled to herself as she fiddled between bottles of pills, trying to find the painkillers she was looking for. cabinet after cabinet, the girl cursed herself and her disorganization, even yelling out at the point in which she bumped her head on the counter.
the two boys awkwardly stood by the door. well, actually, minho was holding back a smirk, and ben fell asleep against the wall.
but, florence didn't have the energy or patience to reprimand either of them. instead, she finally found the vial of pills she was looking for and chucked it behind her without even looking. from the sound, she could tell minho attempted to catch it, juggled it between his hands a few times, before dropping it and letting it roll across the wooden boards.
that chaos in itself awoke ben from his five second nap, florence still remaining crouched on the floor next to the cabinet, leaning her forehead against the counter. she herself was fighting her own nasty hangover, but unlike the boys, she wasn't so dramatic.
