"stressed? no, of course not! why would i be stressed?"florence currently stood in her medjack hut, surrounded by a mess of supplies and two different bodies on two different cots in two different parts of the hut. her voice was high strung and strained, mixed with a bit (a lot) of sarcasm.
newt was leaned in the doorway, minho standing just behind him. both boys had come up to check on the girl given the whole... situation, and, while they weren't expecting her to be fine or anything, they'd also not expected her to be so frazzled.
"look, flo," newt sighed, watching as florence shuffled back and forth, trying to count her bandages while tallying them up on a piece of paper. "everything is going to be fine—"
florence rolled her eyes, hands moving at a rapid speed. "right," she replied, disbelievingly. "everything's totally fine given, y'know, we aren't ever getting anymore supplies and i also have two almost if not partially dead people, one of which is a girl who seemed to know thomas," she paused taking a deep breath. "but, yes, everything's fine."
"you know," minho began slowly, "this isn't the first time a girl has landed in the glade."
florence paused, giving him a look. "oh, right, duh. how could i forget?" she responded, sarcasm even thicker than before. "oh, but, last time i checked, i hadn't come with an extremely mysterious and also threatening message? or did you forget that part?"
so, clearly florence wasn't in the brightest of moods.
"but, even so, besides all of the that, i'm just... i'm worried. there's alby on one hand, to which we've had someone watching him all day." she glanced over to jeff, who sat in the other room with alby while also counting whatever supplies she kept stored over there. "there's also this... girl. her note is one thing, her knowing thomas is another, but then there's the fact that she isn't waking up. i think her body's just... shutting down, more tired than ever. either that, or a coma, and in that case we don't nearly have the right supplies to save her."
florence sighed, leaning back against the wall and pressing her hands to her face. she was exhausted. "but we clearly need her alive given the fact that she seems to know stuff, like thomas, or her note."
newt hobbled over to her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder as she groaned. "you're doing what you can, flo," he said calmly. "for that we're forever grateful."
minho nodded in the background, a gentle smile blessing his features. "yeah, and if anyone dies, just blame thomas. nobody seems to have a problem with that recently."
thomas. florence hadn't even noticed the dark haired boy hidden behind minho, not until he protested with a small, "hey!"
flo narrowed her eyes at him, now that newt and minho had moved out of the way, and her eyes carefully trailed up and down his figure. he was still cute, she had to say, but obviously not her type — wait, that wasn't her point. she shook her head, and pulled her focus together.
"come here," she beckoned, standing up straight and walking over to the sleeping girl. she knew thomas' face was scrunched in confusion and perhaps concern (considering how different this version of flo was compared to the one that welcomed him) as they walked, but she paid no mind to it.
once they stopped in front of the girl, she tilted her head at thomas in curiosity. "d'you know her?"
he stared at the girl, gaze deep, and while it might've been just a second of staring, florence felt something in the way he looked at her. if he didn't recognize her at the forefront of his brain, she could tell something nagged at him. "no," thomas replied with a shake of his head.
